Some of you guys are clearly too picky. How often has Troy really updated the MH page? I wouldn't be wrong in saying a few times, if at all. Not only that, but the series is about the videos, not the youtube page. That being said, this is the equivalent of complaining about actor names on the box of a DVD. Relax.

It's no more immersion-breaking than seeing the credits at the beginning of a movie. If you didn't immediately grasp that a series of short films about a monster isn't a work of fiction, you are probably too dumb to operate a computer in the first place.
As for the claim that the cast should be satisfied with their 1,000 sales, come on . Multiply 1,000 by $11.99, take out the distributor's cut, divide by the number of cast members, and then divide that by the number of hours spent on the project. I will be stunned if it turns out that the resulting number is more than $5, and it will certainly be less than minimum wage. They could have made a better living working at the Taco Bell, but instead they chose to create free entertainment for us. Let them have their meager profits. They deserve it.

Re: Does this bother anyone else? There's a link to the MH dvd website on the MH Utube channel. You people aren't getting the point of why this makes him mad.
Its not about what the OOG link is, its the fact that there is one.
Why would J post a link to a website of his own videos on dvd?
Troy does it for money, but J shouldn't even have a DVD unless something is seriously wrong with him.
The reason this makes me feel it wasn't the best choice to put the link up, is because the whole channel is devoted to being marble-hornets-ish. So putting an OOG link does in fact defeat alot of immersion.

And I say clearly marking where the official version of the DVD may be purchased and keeping your fans (the ones who haven't discovered Troy's blog or troyhasacamera) from running into scammers on their hunt for the website (that maybe a friend in aim briefly mentioned that they heard about somewhere) is good relations.
You would not believe how easy it is to accidentally purchase a bootleg.

I understand that the fourth wall has already been broken and we all knew from the start that this was fake, but the mh/totheark IG pages have never had anything OOG.
If we're here to talk about the IG pages ruining immersion, then shouldn't we be making a bigger stink over all the "GIMME 20 DOLLAS" shenanigans happening in the TTA video comments?
I'm pretty sure people got over that eventually. I'd say a link to the official DVD store is the least of this series' problems immersion-wise.

No, I fully understand why he (and quite a few others) are upset by this. I just think it's a silly thing to get so worked up over. Same goes for those who get themselves all twisted up whenever Troy makes a slip-up (something that's been common this season with all the hectic stuff going on in his and Joseph's schedules OOG), or who were/are upset that credits exist for Season One on YouTube. Yes, it's on the channel but as quite a few people have pointed out, for a majority of the fans, they're gonna find out about it through that or the Twitter. Piggybacking theonewhoquestions, it's better to break a little bit of immersion to ensure people know where they're going. (And hey, at least the site looks pretty in-game legit for the most part. Maybe TTA's just trying to make some money off of Jay's misfortune. )

Thats something I pointed out in what of my earlier posts how the average fan wouldn't see it on his blog, which is true.
And I guess the ultimate point is what you said (or I guess theonewhoquestions), sometimes its better to break a little immersion.

I'm content with the links to the dvd website on Twitter and Youtube (though the latter makes me fear that less people will find out about the twitter account).
I'm not content with the painfully generic art and sound design of the dvd website. MH is not a Nine Inch Nails album, ffs.

If he was posting the trailer on the MH page, or had obnoxious ads, then a thread like this would be justified.
Honestly how else would people who have never been to these forums or elsewhere even know about the DVD? Even on discussion forums like this, you need to run a pretty fine comb to locate his OOG blog or know his real name.
Just sayin...

If anything it's the ads like "marble tiles 50% off" that pop up midway through an entry thanks to youtube that are immersion killers

This.
It's not like there's a great big ad for the DVD that plays before/after every entry. You have to scroll down a ways on the YouTube page in order to see the URL; if you stick to the top of the page (you know, where the actual videos are), you don't see it at all.

Does it bother anyone else that there's a DVD thread where somebody already brought this up?

Funny story guys, Troy doesn't need our permission to post a website so people know to help fund the project that YOU watch.
