Wow.

I just gone reading this in it's entirety, and this is good stuff. I've read quite a few blogs, all generally good (the ones I've stuck with 'till the end, mind you). This one, however, really stands out. I love the way it reflects House of Leaves (this book seems to always find a way into the Slenderverse, doesn't it?) as Simon obsessively reading The Walking Willow is very similar to Johnny Truant absorbing himself in The Navidson Record. As i_17bingo said, I love that they call him Daddy as well. I always liked it when a series gave him his own unique name in contrast to Slender Man. This story is very dark (as it should be) and really captures the hopelessness you should find in these stories. Excellent stuff, very talented writer(s) behind this one. I can see this being held in the same esteem as Seeking Truth or Dreams In Darkness.

...Christ, dude, I guess I'd better not screw it up then!

Also, yeah, there's a lot of HoL in the mythos, if just because, if you replace every instance of minotaur with "Slender Man", it's exactly like a hauntingly effective Slender Man story, albeit nine years before Victor Surge. It's that kind of horror.

I have faith that you won't! I really enjoy your writing. It's honestly hard for a blog to truly grab my attention these days. I've been through so many that I often have a "been here, done that, know where this is going" moment with new ones and stop paying attention. This isn't the case with yours though. Once I started, I couldn't stop and eagerly wait to see what happens next. Keep it up!

Oh God, don't tell him that. He's gonna be insufferable.

And yeah, he writes a teenage girl suspiciously well, doesn't he? Razz

Bump!

An unexpected twist, but this obviously isn't the end. I think things are going to get even crazier once we hear

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
what Kari has to say.

Okay, this new post is...interesting.

Certainly an interesting idea about this whole thing.

Can't see it sticking though, somehow. Especially given that post ending.

Okaaaaaay, so the last few posts have been scary as fuck! If I were Kari I'd be watching out for more human threats than just worrying about Daddy.

Christ almighty, but Simon really is in the hole now, isn't he?

New update you guies.

Before I read anything but the title, this new post has some interesting symbolism. It's on Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind -- which is about a man who goes through a medical process to completely forget his ex. The morale of the story was to forget about someone is to damn yourself to repeating history.

I just found it interesting, since Slenderman (or in this case, "Daddy") is prone to causing memory loss.

After reading, it appears he already touched on this. D'oh.
In any case I think the process of forgetting has already begun for Simon. Guess he's going to repeat himself eventually?

I approve. Looking forward to the next piece.
I like how it was pointed out how slow the process would be to stretch the limbs. It wasn't something you necessarily think about at first when you glance over the passage, but when you finish reading the imagery hits you like a ton of bricks. The image of Slenderman standing there, slowly pulling Simon's arms out of their sockets while Simon just screams, possibly for hours, is chilling.

This. Ugh, that post makes me feel utterly sick to my stomach in the best way. Can't wait for the next stage!

Hell of an ending, on both their parts.

Bring on The Refugees!
