If anyone cares...

I think the actress we see as Joe's mother, the one pushing him on the swing is Laura Linney.

It looks like her and she also works with Gabriel Basso in "The Big C". She also worked with Noah Emmerich in The Truman Show.

She doesn't seem to be listed in the cast but her role is likely very small.

 		I literally registered to comment on this. If you think that is Laura Linney you are on crack. The woman in Super 8 playing the mom looks to be in her 20s, laura linney is like mid-late 40s I think. I think it looks like Rebecca Hall who was recently in the Town, don't know her from anything else though.

 		My guess is Amanda Michalka plays the girl in the trailer who is shown walking but only from the waist down. (You can't make that sound good anyway). Most likely a sister or such is my guess. I'm putting money on her being the sister of the kid who is shown filming before the train crash. the "what the hell" kid. That's just my though.
