I've seen old chimneys in sate parks around where I live, particularly Jacobsburg State Park. Back in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, houses were predominantly made of wood, while the chimneys were made of brick (so they did not burn down).

It's not uncommon at all. Many of those old communities were transformed in to park land.[/url]

Sounds like a pretty cool area where you live. You ever see any instances of ingrown vegetation in those old buildings?

Not so much. Most of the old building foundations are in clearings.

God, now whenever I see grass popping out out sidewalk tiles I'm going to reflexively run screaming into traffic, flailing my arms like soggy noodles.

Gotcha. Any of the houses elevated? Few old houses like that around where I live.

I need to rewatch 40 to see if there's any trace of a house or something left over.

Question.
We all agree that the area is a clearing because trees were knocked down to build this house.
So this house gets old/burns down/who knows what and what is left is this chimney in a clearing.
So if a tree grew and forced its way into this chimney, why are there no other trees or other signs of plant life in the clearing? Especially since this is a whole, full grown tree. In that time the clearing should not be clear anymore, or at least, as clear as it is.

Actually at one point in the entry we can see another, similar structure to the chimney a few yards away.

Since this thread is mostly pointless crap like childish arguments, I'd just like to make it known:

Good catch. There's something similar (I think) at 2:00.

It seems likely to me that there were wooden houses there in the clearing, with brick chimneys. Wood burns, brick, not so much. As to explain the overgrowth, this is supposed to be (assuming 38 happened int Rosswood park) a place where historically the trees grew amazingly fast. Slendy fertilizer anyone?

Maybe the fires happened more recently that we thought. For how long has this place been a park? Do we know? Jay may have even wandered out into private property for all we know. The houses may have burned down much more recently. Alex mentioned that he moved to the area, maybe this was Alex's old house before he moved to wherever the first season takes place (home town I shall call it). Did the house in the video have forest in the background? I remember a clearing in the near background, but not anything specific. Maybe even where his birthday from the video takes place. Not long after his house burns down in an "accident", and he moves to hometown. Maybe he moved back there after shit went down, not knowing it was where everything started.

I really want a bag of Slendy brand fertilizer now... Guaranteed to make your plants grow fast. Side effects may include suitedness, loss of hair and loss of face.

Edit: JayQue, your avatar makes me so happy. Smile

I wonder if Entry 41 will be posted around Troy's OOG birthday. Speaking of which, we both share our birthday not only with each other, but also with Dennis mothereffing Hopper. That gives Troy and I both +5 irrevocable cool points.

I just read about this. Wasn't it the cover story in this month's Big Whoop Magazine?

To contribute, I don't think they'll make a big deal of Troy's IRL burp day. It just seems...dumb.

Can't say I disagree, Stevie D. There hasn't been much attention given to Alex's in-game birthday (aside from them telling us when it is), so I doubt OOG we'll see anything similar.

For once, the guy who suddenly disappeared as soon as he appeared (AKA me) agrees with this man.
