I think J doesn't know of that connection, if that theory is correct.

Wait wat? There are no "marble hornets", it's just the title of Alex's film.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Troy said that he was trying to come up with a name for a pretentious student film and decided the next two things he saw were going to be it. He saw a granite delivery truck and a pest control truck. Marble. Hornets.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you were joking, I'm a complete idiot.

There was mention made (on the twitter? in comments? in the videos? can't remember) of Alex getting the name from a marble hornet statue his parents had (or gave him, or something), iirc.

EDIT: Alex the character, not the actor playing him.

It would be amazing if they could somehow get a sculpture of a hornet, or something similar, off eBay or wherever on Earth, give it a paintover so it looks marble, and somehow put it in an entry.

Only read about half the thread, but does anyone else get the feeling you can only see slendy through a camera?

Good thought, but it has a pretty much disproved in Entry #12.

I disagree. I believe that only Alex (and the camera) can see The Operator in that video. (Granted, that does disprove the "only" part, but for most of humanity, I believe it is true.)

Entry #12, if I'm right in thinking that it's the one where they're shooting and they try to get Slenderman away from the shot, other people notice him because they say "What's that guy doing over there?".

Maybe Slendy is only visible through a camera, hence why J pointed the camera at him instead of just looking at him. He couldn't see him otherwise.
There are probably some exceptions to this if it is true.

The camerawoman just says, "What's he doing?" So she might have been wondering what Alex was doing walking over there. That's assuming nobody else could see the Operator. Personally though, I do think the others saw him.

It could be that people can see the Operator, but can't see that he's supernatural. Maybe to other people or without the camera, he just looks like a really tall guy. Alex says, "Don't worry about him - he'll move." Which leads me to believe somebody else must have mentioned the Operator's presence first. But nobody was freaking out, so I doubt they could see that the figure was unnaturally tall and had no face.

*snicker* I'm half tempted to try and find one, then send it to the cast when they finish this, just for fun.

Yes, that is my theory. One thing I have just thought of though is that with the mobile traces it seems the camera would have to be on to establish the link. This would make some sense considering all the EMI/RFI the Operator creates, so a magnetic field of some sort being created ties in a little bit. As well it would help explain why the Operator never directly teleported into J's room(despite him having a presence there)
As to the how I think it is more he has exerted some sort of direct influence over the object or around the object. In the case of the burnt trees in Rosswood Park the people would leave the people out to be stretched then burned. I'm assuming it was the Operator that did the stretching and since those trees "witnessed" the horrors he could potentially warp back there.

Maybe Slendy can lock onto people, turn them into similar "portals"? That way he could instantly warp near their location when they're somewhere they shouldn't be, like J going to look at the chimney. It could even be some kind of psychic link, like they need to be thinking about Slendy for him to find them, which would explain his appearance when Alex saw his old camera-- he hadn't thought about Slendy until then. Even while they're asleep they could be dreaming about him. There are some holes with the theory, I know, but it's an idea.

I just saw these sitting on my desktop and realized someone here might want them... They're the best shots I could get of Slendy, going through frame by frame. I saw some pics posted, but I don't think these exact ones.
