To each their own. The acting never took me "out of it", not once.

The only time it has ever done it for me was during the Entry where Alex breaks Tim's leg with the rock. Jay says something like "I'm not giving you the knife!" and then practically shows the knife to the camera, as if to remind us that he had it.

Otherwise, yeah, never had an issue with the acting.

Usually, there's not much going on, so it doesn't show. Entry 42, think, where Jay is running through the woods.

C'MON ALEX
RUN
LET'S GO

I actually laughed.

46 gave off the impression that they were goofing off behind the camera, but otherwise it was fine.

Also, yeah the NO I AM NOT GIVING YOU THE KNIFE line. As if we didn't hear Alex, Jay had to remind the camera that there was a knife involved.

Perhaps the series will end like a certain scene in a certain episode of Invader Zim, in which a Pigboy in lederhosen runs across a classroom while sobbing, jumps out of a closed window, and flys away leaving only the sound of a passing jet engine. That's how I'd end it anyway.

I don't think the acting ever took me out of the series. Even when it was bad I was scared enough that Slendy was going to show up that I didn't notice it. Or the bad acting was intentional. Ex. Loop of unhappiness.

The only time I think I was ever taken out of the series was in entry 14 where Slendy walks in the room and it's super scary and then it shows Alex's face and the blood is so fake looking that it just soiled the entry for me.

Soiled it!

I think reiterating that a knife was involved could be natural enough when you're trying to make sense of what just happened.

However the "come on Alex, run!" bullshit was terrible. Jay's acting had never been too stellar (I wasn't a huge fan of some of the hotel conversations) but that scene was the only one that really took anything away from the series for me.

There has been worse acting in Slendy vlogs though.

Seconding this one. I want to find out that we've had the answers all along, with the final entry revealing one or two key pieces of information. Those small revelations act as a type of decoder ring, or point out the right thread to pull to unravel most of the big mysteries.

I say most, because I'd rather not get all the answers about The Operator-- who he is, where he's from, his motivations, etc. Some things about him need to go unexplained, because they simply can't be understood by us. Like this post says:

See, part of what makes the Operator frightening to me is that he doesn't have a method or motive(at this point, anyway). If we can come away from Marble Hornets saying, "Well, the Operator targeted Alex because Alex [insert inciting action here].", then suddenly we as the audience are safe. We can say, "As long as I don't [action], the Operator won't get me." At this point, none of us are safe because the Operator can choose anyone at any time. That's part of what freaks me personally out, anyway.

Looks like we'll have to wait another season to find out, woot!

I predict the ending will last one whole season.
