 		totheark being the operator would absolutely destroy the totheark account for me

i have factual reason to believe brian is totheark and here's why (dvd spoilers) - posted it in another thread but idk if anyone read it

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
in the "shooting in the woods" bonus feature, joseph says the syllable "br" before he is cut off when mentioning the name of the hooded character that sits next to tim. every time during that segment when they reveal hoody's name they bleep it out, but it can only be 1-2 syllables long. but he definitely says "br" before he is cut off the first time, bad editing on kiril's part lol


in intermission, we can see a hand drawn hooded figure sitting next to a tree, with the caption "did you see me, i saw you" - at the beginning of entry 42 you can see hoody sitting beneath a tree and joseph makes a point to pan over to him two or three times. if it wasn't hoody, joseph would have left him out of frame


also in inquiry, the first picture that says "you are you" is most likely brian since alex and tim are confirmed as two seperate pictures, although it could be jay. if it is jay, it's implying that he's operator infected himself.

One problem with your assertion that it must be Brian because they use Brian's name is that they have used different actors for Hoody over the different entries. So while Brian might be Hoody in that particular entry, he might not be in other entries.

I do think Brian is the most likely Hoody candidate though.

 		For a long time I was 100% certain that Brian was totheark, but now I'm not so sure. Brian's sorta the comic relief character, and I just have a hard time imagining him becoming this really dark, cryptic, mentally disturbed(?) guy.

No, we know that Troy was in the costume when it was filmed. That doesn't mean that the character of Jay is intended to be Hoody's identity.

(Sorry if this has already been raised- I'd like to think I don't have time to read 35 pages of out of date speculation, but I probably do Wink )

I was thinking it might be productive to have a thread about totheark definitely is not, because that kind of information won't change. (This includes speculating multiple people behind the account.) For example totheark cannot be just Jay because totheark films Jay in Addition, so that combination of people is well and truly jossed and cannot be unjossed.

If we do things this way we won't have to keep track of when someone's theory about who totheark is gets shot down, because Troseph can choose to shoot down any one of these theories at any time with something they throw in. Just an idea. Might be more robust, useful and futureproof than speculating about who totheak is.

 		I'm not sure exactly what a thread like that could accomplish, to be honest. I'm pretty sure Jay is the only one we can conclusively rule out, and that's only because of Addition.

We just don't know enough about what has happened to the other characters. While it seems we could rule out the original Marble Hornets cast due to them being "gone" as Alex describes it, we still don't know if Operator attacks actually killed them. Tim's still running around, after all.

(In fact, when I first watched #22? I hadn't even assumed the Operator had killed anyone. I thought it had just mentally assaulted them, wiping their memories or something, which created some sort of really uncanny effect for Alex and prompted him to book it out of town before the same thing happened to him. It wasn't until I started poking around other parts of fandom years later that it occurred to me that they might be dead.)

It's not quite that bad. Forecast shows us it's not just Tim/Masky and that it must include someone that looks like Hoodie. It may be a short thread, but it could still be a useful one as collect more clues. But yeah, your point that we can't say much at the moment is well taken. Who knows, the next few entries could bring a lot of new information.

Edit to add: My current thinking is that it's a tag-team of Tim and Brian, because if we look at season 1 we never see Brian and Tim in the same scene at the same time. The only time they appear together (except in Entry #51) is off camera in Entry #12. Otherwise one always makes an excuse for the other (going to the store, or whatever.) Maybe they were both being stalked at some point, realized they were both a part of the same thing and started working together. Either way it seems quite odd how there was always one of the two about on set in season 1, but they were never seen together. That seems like too much of a coincidence to me, it's the kind of behavior of two people who want to follow Alex around 24/7.

This is extremely late, but:

They were together in Entry #54. Not sure if that adds or takes away anything from your theory, but yeah.

 		I think we can eliminate Amy, first and foremost. I think we can eliminate Jay too. Alex seems unlikely, and Tim definitely isn't TTA's mastermind (but is definitely a part of TTA). Jessica seems out of the running too.

I think the likely candidates are Sarah, Seth, and Brian (and for me, in that order of likeliness from most to least).

But personally, for the Seth camp, I like the idea of Seth being Hoody and leading Jay to his "grave" in 58.

 		it makes the most sense for it to be seth, but it will more than likely be brian since he is the most available to film

also tim had a dream recently involving filming with brian if that counts for anything
