@The Slender Man: No. Personally, I think the idea is ridiculous and most likely not how it's going to play out.

I've been thinking about this a little bit:

I know a lot of people used to think that totheark was Seth, because he was the cameraman and totheark has obvious experience with various film techniques, from complex editing to stop motion.

That theory was kind of forgotten when Seth never showed up again, but considering he's been seen in this season, I think it's possible after all.

I was previously leaning toward the theory that Hoody = Totheark = Brian, but it could just as easily be Seth, especially considering we saw Brian's unconscious/dead body being dragged across the floor.

Furthermore, there's not really any reason that Brian would have experience with film editing...he's just an actor. He also doesn't really have a reason to HATE Alex, considering they were close friends. He was also close to Tim, so it seems unlikely that he'd be calling him a liar.

Seth, on the other hand, was treated especially poorly by Alex throughout the entire filming process. The only person who was treated nearly as badly as him was Tim, who obviously isn't Alex's biggest fan either.

And Seth and Tim weren't that close as far as we know, so even though they've clearly formed some kind of alliance during whatever entry it was when they had Alex pinned down in the forest, they might not be the best of friends anymore. Anything could've happened.

To me it seems likely that when Alex and Seth went to go check out whatever-the-fuck-we-call-that-place-now, Alex was trying to offer Seth to the Operator, but he actually got away in time unlike the others. This could've provoked Alex to run away and leave it all behind in fear of being caught.

Unless, of course, we're going with the theory that Alex is influenced by the Operator and is basically a different person when he's near...in which case he just decided to run away out of pure remorse and shame.

Either way, Seth decided that Alex was fucking insane and disappeared like everyone else. But one day he did a search for "Marble Hornets" out of curiosity, and he found Jay's videos. He then decided to start giving him some clues in hopes of eventually getting Alex back.

Random thought: didn't Tim say that Brian "moved away", but he didn't really know anything more than that? Doesn't that seem weird for people who were apparently really good friends? Tim either knew the whole time that Brian was killed by Alex, or he had already forgotten everything and "gotten better" by that point (in which case Jay has actually ruined Tim's life on TWO occasions).

I'm also gonna take this opportunity to say that I don't really think Tim was ever involved with the actual editing and posting of the totheark videos. Masky seems more like a reckless mentally ill person, while Hoody is cool, calm, and likes to have things planned out.

That actually explains like, the majority of Totheark videos.

There's no reason why Tim couldn't have learned how to do all that stuff himself, anyway.

And I think every character at this point has a very good reason to hate Alex. He's tried to kill EVERYONE. If I was Brian I'd be pretty pissed, assuming I could remember anything.

We don't really have direct evidence, I think, that Tim managed to escape being attacked by The Operator, even if he survived. Given that he's still around, it's perfectly possible that The Operator had close contact with Seth, rather than Seth having escaped completely.

Even if Alex was consciously committing crimes, it's fully possible that The Operator's memory tricks work on him as well, so he could have forgotten everything he had done, and been so confused that he just decided to move away and start a new life with Amy, to try to forget. But his calmness in Entry #26 seems to kind of contradict that, given his reaction to The Operator. So who knows?

EDIT: I also feel like if Hoody was capable of forming long term well-thought out plans, Jay wouldn't be two years into the game and having gotten nowhere the entire time. Also, Hoody wouldn't have lost his theoretical partner.

I think one of the more interesting aspects of Marble Hornets is that different characters react very differently to the Operator. Alex tends to take his stress from the Operator out on everyone else as anger; we've been seeing that since Entry #9. Tim seems to have created a separate personality, who remembers things he normally doesn't, but is completely chaotic and disorganized. Jay's just lost his ability to act social to other people, and is too paranoid to trust anyone. I know I've delved into the realm of speculation with that, but I think Alex murdering everyone is just the result of prolonged exposure to the Operator, or if you will, his asshole director attitude taken up to 11. The Operator's realized that if Alex is killing people than it's to it's advantage, which is why it's not trying to kill Alex anymore, and how Alex got out of his house alive in Entry #46.

This is just a thought, but what if it's Jay? Like, Jay is the mastermind behind the whole thing and we kind of pull a "Watchmen?"

That wouldn't make sense anymore because of "Remember." Jay wouldn't have been able to film himself from behind.

"Forecast," too, for that matter.

And "Return."

I thought the same thing at first, too. But what if he's working with other people to make it look like it's not him?

The Operator is a fake monster and Jay is trying to use YouTube to achieve world peace?

No, that would be silly. Like, what if Jay is trying to slowly drive Alex and Tim and the others insane?

I think tall and slendy is taking care of that all by himself.

After seeing "Observation" on ToTheArk's channel, now I really think TTA is Jay.

Why, though?

I just. I really don't like the possibility.
