I am ashamed to say that i have been inspired to write a Slenderman song put to the classic 1960`s Spiderman cartoon theme. Surprisingly, it fit rather well. For best results, listen to the theme in another tab while reading.

``Slenderman, Slenderman,
Does whatever a monster can.
Waits outside, looking in, watching guys, without eyes,
Lookout, here comes the Slenderman.

Is he there, listen Jay,
He`s comes out, in the day.
Can he move, from his spot,
Disappears, can`t be caught,
Hey there, there goes the Slenderman.

In the chill of night,
At the scene of the shoot.
Like a streak of white,
In a dark business suit.

Slenderman, Slenderman,
Friendly neighborhood Slenderman.
Generally, he`s ignored,
But fear and dread are his reward.

To him,
This is the monster`s era,
Wherever there`s a camera,
You`ll find the Slenderman!``

...I`ll let myself out.

That was awesome.

I got to thinking... Has anyone ever tried organizing the TTA videos by their style?

Good idea, but keep in mind that Trosephim may not have been as mindful about such things towards the beginning. I do think that your list fairly conclusively proves that Hoody was not the original totheark, having only joined after season 2 started. Admittedly that was fairly well deduced before, but it's always good to be certain.

This also shows that it's probable that there are either 3 or 4 members of totheark: Hoody, Tim, and one or two others. Whether it's one or two depends on whether or not you think Tim was making videos. I'm tentatively assuming that he wasn't, based on the fact that he only seems to be aware of TO in masky mode (until recently) and masky's persona seems too unstable to produce such high quality and heavily edited videos.

I'm going to assume no new characters because of reasons. The obvious candidates for the identities of Hoody and unknowns 1 and 2 are anyone who worked on MH. Seth, Brian and Sarah could all be involved. But I think that we should entertain the possibility that Alex was originally part of TTA, but when he was re-recruited by TO, Hoody took his place. Or maybe not. I'm not in the mood to research how well the S2 timeline supports that theory, so I'll just put it out there.

I was hoping that, more than anything, Hoody was not a cast member of Marble Hornets, and is just an exterior entity altogether. In a majority of the entries he's in, he's just so calm and kempt, even when running away from Jay or Alex. The only point I ever remembered Hoody showing any sign of fear was, I think, in Entry#45, when he and Masky look off-camera (at the Operator?) and quickly exit.

That being said, if Hoody is this "separate entity", then I think that he is the primary candidate for ToTheArk's identity. It could be run by other people, and probably is; I think that, regardless of how far back Trosephim planned anything, they may have done script edits that make the "changes in style" between TTA videos an actual story element/plot point (as Jay has made points IG about how the styles of certain TTA videos differ. Therefore it's important).

If they were to be actual people, I would put Brian on the pedestal as Hoody. It would make the most sense in terms of Hoody's videos I mentioned on the list before, because besides Seth (who is honestly not as big a character as Brian), the only male character that has not shown up in realtime, at all, is Brian.

The thing about Totheark not being part of the cast is, at this point, it would just be kind of like "Old Man Jenkins?"/"Yes, & I would have gotten away with it, if it weren't for you meddling kids!"

I think we're all missing the point. Who ToTheArk is doesn't matter, what matters is why they're doing what they're doing.

That sounds an awful lot like that scene in The Dark Knight Rises, but it's true...

So... it doesn't matter who totheark is, all that matters is that he killed Littlefinger? Gotcha.

'Cept who Bane was turned out to be very important. Which I'm not just saying to be a smart ass, I'd say that the who and why are inseparable. If Totheark was just Old Man Jenkins, it wouldn't make sense for him to go through all of this effort, unless he wants The Operator's pot of gold.

Who's Littlefinger?

Right, except that who Bane was wasn't important, nor was it really revealed. Because it was Ra's Al Ghul's daughter who was using Bane as a puppet. Just like Poison Ivy used Bane in "Batman & Robin." Thus nullifying your argument.

Bane was Talia's protector. This is his connection to the League of Shadows and motivation for attacking Bruce & Gotham. I wasn't expecting to get his date of birth, blood type, mother's maiden name, & dental records.

I'd also say he's no more "used by" Talia than Commissioner Gordon is by Batman.

Edit for Clarification: Since we're apparently sticking with this Dark Knight metaphor, Totheark having no important identity would be like The Joker. But this worked because The Joker is (A) iconic & (B) motivated by chaos.

Well, I guess that would explain why no one can really understand what he's saying. But if Bane is ToTheArk, then that means Tim is Batman! I knew it!

But, y'see, if we know WHO ToTheArk is, perhaps we can better understand WHY he is doing what he is doing.

Knowing what he's doing only answers the "what". Knowing who he is may answer the "why".

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Gotta agree here. Bane was loyal to Talia, but that doesn't diminish the role he played in the movie. He handled most of the plan by himself while Talia played the hostage, so I'd say he's important enough in his own right.

Okay okay, okay. We're suddenly comparing the merits of Joel Schumacher and Christopher Nolan's respective takes on Bane instead of trying to decode and figure out more about who or what ToTheArk is and why they're/it is/are doing what they/it is/are doing.
