The Fox previews and spots tonight were pretty sweet.

The only thing is, it feels like it may reach a point of showing too much, prior to the release.

Oh chicken nuggets. It's such a hard balance to strike. (^~^)

Those of us that have been following the virals (revalistic.com, STIES, Josh Minker, etc.) are already invested and will be there opening weekend.

But, for everyone else, selling the movie's concept cold is kind of tough, since, if the marketing's too secretive, people won't have enough info to go off of, and won't be interested in seeing the film. This must be killing Abrams, since he likes to be so secretive.

I may skip the rest of the spots, unless they're somehow related to the virals, just b/c I don't want to see too much. So...hard...(o_0)

And, @ tstrel: agreed!

A few of us explored this option on some earlier posts, that there may be several versions of the creature across the different spots to throw us off, since Abrams loves himself a good secret. ^_^

^I've noticed that too. His basic approach to drawing in audiences is to show almost nothing and hope they'll go see the movie based on his name being in the ads.

Guy claims he had access to a rough draft of the script, I call BS on this, because it all seems a bit too obvious and easy, but it's all really spoilery, he tells the whole thing, but I hope it's BS.

Trust me, I read this KNOWING that it wouldn't be legitimate. This movie may be an homage to Spielberg, but that doesn't mean that it's ET. The basis of the movie is about the children and their survival against an unpredictable and monstrous creature, and how their relationships evolve throughout. As said earlier, Anyone outside of production knows nothing about the script, and honestly, this "script" this guy posted, just sounds plain stupid. It's even explained in the 20 minute footage:

I'm not as invested in this game Jane, but I would really like to see the rest of that DAMN editing room footage. I'm gonna find that guy who plays the military guy talking and I'm going to break into his house and force him to repeat that dialogue. Worth going to prison for right?? As long as the trial lasted long enough for me to see the movie before being put away into anal penitentiary

Jane, I think the rainbow bridge being destroyed is getting to you. Don't worry, Thor will be back in The Avengers.

Anywho, Josh will never find the fish. It's the same foundation that the Movie itself is held afloat by. The kids lives are changed through a dramatic event, being the train crash and the alien attacks, thus, they drop everything they are doing and fight to live it out. The same goes for Josh, as he was looking for the Coelacanth, but then came into contact with mysterio and learned about his father being part of a government conspiracy. He dropped what he was doing to figure everything out.

J.J.'s outlook on life is genuine. Realistic. If you stop doing one thing, because something else important comes up, then there's just nothing you can do, and you eventually let it go.

And whatchoo talkin' bout?! EVERYONE cares about the movie. FOREVER!
