Can't sleep, so got up to ask about the following:

Went on the trail for Chapter 2 Saturday. Got Transcripts and Cult Sounds. Found Hopscotch. Got hobocoinage and exchanged it. Twice.

Went back to epwa and entered in the &_answers.

and then...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Nothing? Got the Congratulations... Put in &_now for more, and lost communication. and then &_now for more for more followed by &_now... Am I missing something?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

After I answered all the questions on the EPWA site, causing the screen to flash and "lose connection," I wasn't sure if I had finished everything either.

In fact, after scratching my head for a while, I decided to cave in and Google more information about it, which is how I found this forum. Good to know I haven't missed anything!

However, I have a question:

How would I have found out about Act III if I didn't visit this forum?

The flashing screen at the end of Act II gives no clues where to go next. After Act I, it was clear that the next course of action was to visit Upper Dolores Park and listen to the broadcast. Heck, I even received a text message with the instructions. But this one left me with a dead end. So yeah, how did you guys find out about the Reconstruction Project?

I only ask because I love figuring things out on my own, and hate having to Google to find out information if the clues were there all along. Would a newly-inducted nonchalant have been able to find his way to the Remembering Eva site through in-game clues? Let me know, because I've been driving myself crazy trying to figure it out.

As usual, thank you for being awesome. Cool

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Hey VonWolfgang! A lot of us probably found out about it via one of two channels:
  1. Kelvin's blog, if you don't happen across it from Googling stuff, was linked to from a card when you get to the end of chapter 1.
  2. Commander 14 sent out an email with the URL to rememberingeva.com. But that only benefited folks who were paying attention previous to that email going out.
  3. Okay, 3, we're chatty as hell and one of us usually posts here when Kelvin had a new post, but this would be the "you googled about this thing and ended up here" or you found the URL to these forums in the box in St. Mary's, but that box gets edited all the time.
You bring up a good point about new folks coming in at this point in time getting to chapter 3; unless you're diligent about researching as many cards as you can stand, and then read through Kelvin's blog, you may not stumble across it.

Act III

Hear Hear, Jason:

While the creative individuals have front loaded the awareness of
Act I to the hilt (or as much as can be expected), there's a definite leap from there to here.

Essentially, you need to get on their mailing lists. There's one for the JI, one for the EWPA and one for Kelvin's Blog. Any others?

Do any of our participants here have an inkling with what to do with

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Kidnapping? Any headway on their, um, demands?
Are they all just in a state of hybernation over the holidays (and Santa Rampage hangovers)?

Anyone see that crazy van? I have a hunch that the action has moved down in the mission, near the studio...but that's just a hunch.

yeah i never thought of it but people just finishing act II might have a hard time being naturally lead to act III. aside from the mailing lists (which they might send 'late' email announcements to for new people) there is also your cell phone. i know i got a number of text messages warning me about the dubious actions of a certain blogger, as well as a sketchy art exhibit. i think there's gotta be a way for the EPWA to know that people got to the end of act II like at the end of all the questions in the website you put in your email so they can know who's just finished and needs to move on.

@crumblydonut

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
i think now that kelvin has been introduced to all that he's been missing he'll become less of a victim of kidnapping and more of a full on member of the EPWA trying to help them find what happened to Eva. in that case i just wonder what they're gonna do with Audry. also i really want a donut now. damn your tasty looking avatar!

Thanks to both Jason and crumblydonut for the responses!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

@Jason: You're referring to the floating cards after logging with the 3LS3WH3R3 code on the Jejune site, right? Man, I found it super confusing to sort between the user-created cards (I made one myself, of course), and the In-Game cards. It's not even the overall number of them, really, it's the rotating/zooming-in pattern that clutters up the screen that makes it tough. After using the handy "Search" feature on this forum, however, I did find this link to all the cards: http://iasoweb.com/ji/nonchalance_cards.html

I can't remember who posted that link, and/or who is responsible for compiling all of the information, but many thanks goes out to the dude/dudette responsible. Very helpful!

@crumblydonut: I'm on the Jejune mailing list (just got Octavio's holiday message), and I signed up for Kelvin's list, but can you kindly point me in the direction of where to sign up for the EPWA's list? They have a website address on their site, but not an official "sign up" page like the others had.

Again, thanks to both of you for the info. This is one of the more helpful forums around, with few trolls to be found (at least that I'm aware of). The pleasant interaction here is simply making my overall enjoyment of this experience even more awesome. You guys rule!

just use whatever email you find for the EPWA. there's not really an official email form that i can think of. they'll get it to you all the same.

This is a perfect idea. I did provide Jejune with my real phone number when I made my "3LS3WH3R3" card, which is how I received the "Dolores Park" text message. Receiving a text (or email) just after the "lost connection" on the EPWA site would have made things much more clear. Great idea, Everfalling!

Also, I just checked out your Flikr stream of Act II, and you did a great job documenting the experience. I forgot to bring my camera along, so it was very cool to see the path again. A few small things have changed, as you can imagine:

1) Maybe my brain wasn't working properly, but I simply could not find the "Archival Field Recording" stencil of the two feet on the corner of Chula and Abbey. It didn't affect the experience, but I kept checking the street signs to make sure I was in the right place. I'm assuming that picture you took is on the ground somewhere on that corner, right? Perhaps it washed away?

2) Speaking of being washed away, the Interdimensional Hopscotch chalkings have SERIOUSLY faded away due to the recent storms. Not sure when they'll be able to re-draw them, but yeah, they look nowhere near as bright and shiny as in your pictures.

3) The horse(?) sitting on the porch of the "Small Home Near Elsewhere" has been stolen, or destroyed, or perhaps he went back inside his miniature home to eat hay and watch the season finale of Dexter. Either way, he's gone now. So is the blue water-meter thingie next to other window near Elsewhere.

4) You have no idea how badly I want to click on your set of pictures from Act III. Even though I know it would be spoiling the experience for me, I have this...urge...to...click. I'm holding off though. I'm a strong boy. I can do this. All I have to do is pet my stuffed Steven Seagal doll, and I gain strength. Thank you, Steven, you have saved me in my time of need. Now let me braid your beautiful ponytail.

5) Um...let's pretend that I didn't write #4. Thank you. Moving along...

It looks like they've made some changes to the EPWA Terminal to create a natural, in-game progression for Act III.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
My friend just finished Act II, and he came back to my place to enter in the answers for the "&_5F-5@V@NT5" quiz.

They've added the question: "Who is Kelvin Williams?" and when he answered "&_I don't know", a dialog box pops up with a link to rememberingeva.com, and the on-screen text says, "You should find out what he's up to by following that link." Then, it goes on to confirming which Nonchalant Tooth you have.

This question wasn't there when I completed Act II a few weeks back, which led me to this forum to see where to go next. I think this is a great solution that will allow all new Nonchalants to head off into Act III without much trouble.

If anyone involved with the game is reading this, great job!

Question/epwa website quiz?

Fairly sure I finished Act II.

But....

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I keep getting stuck on the EPWA quiz, specifically the question that says: "how far away is the author of the letter from the intended recipient?"

I've answered elsewhere, 3ls3wh3r3, 3 blocks... I have no idea how to answer this. Smile

Also-- were we supposed to deliver the letter we received at the curiosity shoppe?

Any answers are helpful..

Dang. I appear to have misplaced my copy of the letter. Sad

If memory serves, the answer to your question is in the text of the letter. After combing through my brain, I believe the answer is:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
a breath

@seadamsel:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The answer to that question is on the first page of the letter. I'm pretty sure it's "&_a breath away"

Try that and let me know how it works out for ya. Smile

EDIT: You beat me to it, ariock!
