Coffee MardukKurios, Welcome to uF. You TWO are the dynamic duo! Have also spent some time photoshopping the QR code with no joy. Maybe the remaining "white card" info still to arrive will be sufficient? And being bored was snooping at https://picasaweb.google.com/117116978394896528592

The attached is not part of the photo's EXIF data nor imo a PicasaWeb default setting. Dunno what it means but figured we all should see it.

Received an email back from PP:

Answers:
1) You need not know our out-of-game identity in order to 'trust' us ... enough 'proof' has already been demonstrated via things pointed out to you via emails. Suffice it to say, we are outside of the City (not CF), and interested in helping 'take down' ColeFusion. We are experienced in such campaigns - our archived website is merely for evidence of our qualifications. Our chosen base of operations is NOT the unforum... which is monitored, of course, by the ColeFusion PM's and ourselves, as well.

There are clues - anagrams, names, puzzles - in the Journal articles and emails already posted by ColeFusion that no one has solved or followed up on. Perhaps they are waiting for these to be used before continuing? Just a possibility...

Your other two questions are much simpler to answer:

2) Your email address (as well as others) was revealed in two of ColeHardTruth's emails. That was not a mistake, but intentional. We merely utilized resources provided.

StoryOfMyLife said, "I hope our next group is more amusing." I think we have fulfilled that!

Finally, don't be "weirded out" - we mean no harm, only to be helpful. We have chosen to communicate principally through you because you took the initiative to set up the Truth Forgotten site. (We'll send you a photo for it after when we've secured masks, lol.)

Ignore us, if you wish, henceforth. But at the moment, other than Christien's cell phone find, we're about the only action around...

Play on!
ParadoxPapers
The Truth Machine

I think that they are blurring the lines of IG and OOG.

Hear that? It's the sound of the fourth wall smashing...

They pretty much admitted they're not ingame there. I'm not really sure how I feel about people IG who recognise UF; isn't this supposed to be the place we can talk and not worry that what we say will affect the course of the game?

Story's post being quoted in the above ParadoxPapers email was imo simply another red-flag signifying Gamejack. Holding my original view of PP, amusing but RPG Foily!

Sarah, it's pretty much a given that the PM's very often do lurk here on UF, and that what is discussed can indeed affect the course of the game. It is a major way those running the games see how they're doing and react accordingly.

"The fourth wall" means to me that the PM's don't post here, and that the players stay 'in character' on the game website(s) and when emailing to in-game addresses.

Of course, some ARG's are run differently...

I understand that PMs read UF. When I was a PM, I read it, and used it to help make the game better when people were clearly not understanding my intention. What doesn't sit well with me is the use of things said on UF in an "IG" context; ingame, the characters should not know UF exists and therefore shouldn't be able to talk about it or quote things said on it.

As long as they don't post here, they're not breaking the rules at UF. They may be pushing the line for what players like to see or experience in an ARG, but that'll play out how it plays out (in its fizzling, acceptance, or debunking). Hopefully game PMs are smart enough to see what works and doesn't, so if it's an OOG group masquerading as an in-game organization, hopefully the PMs will find a way to deal with it, especially if it's causing problems in their player community... *shrug* If it IS the PMs, then, well, they'll find out soon enough if their game style is successful or not =P
But, as long as the TOS isn't broken here, it's up to the players to figure out how to handle any uncertainty =)

As ParadoxPapers looks like a dandy spot to pick-up a Trojan maybe just use caution in clicking their 2nd degree of separation hyperlinks? As they themselves said....

Now im not sure, I've emailed them again and, I think that the last couple of emails may have been intended as OOG between me and them. I might send them a freindly reminder that Unfiction is OOG, im still waiting to see what happens here...

You may have already checked this, but could 49TEN be their way of saying, go to number 49, then find Room 10, or Suite 10, or something? I don't know if this is the sort of area with office buildings, but could West then mean "West Tower"? Also, and most importantly, can you tell I've worked in a mailroom?

Thought of that too, but the addresses on the street are from 4300-4898...

I thought of this too, but if that was the case wouldn't they just have left a SIM card at the drop? Pretty much any phone can use them...

As for the charger, the phone battery is not rare and we can likely find a replacement.

New article on the CJP -- "Bibles Stolen from Local Bookstore in Bizarre Theft".

The interesting bit:

Yeah, I'm back.

Mice chewed through the cables of my internet services! So I'm a bit behind on things and events.

I've got stuff to post and ideas to drop! But for now I'm just saying hello. Expect me to be busy this week on ARGs!

Hello all, A couple of things:

1. Paradox Papers is not part of the game. They are trying to help in a way that made them seem in game. Ill get into that after I get home from work if anyone is interested.

2. I googled Virgil Blackstone and found: http://thesocietyfortheadvancementoftruths.blogspot.com/
I havent had time to go over it all because im at work.

I'll be back later on for any questions regarding PP
