I got this email as well, but it was different then how it was posted up here. It was very oddly formatted.

Here, I'll reproduce it, just to see if it's the same as what someone else got:

Did anyone else get that in their version of the email? The misspelling of "week" and the odd formatting seemed curious to me.

 		That is what I got as well.

I believe the emphasis was meant to imply the 52 was not related to weeks, nor a deck of cards, further confirmed with the Watchman's message to inkflamewriter.
52 is not important, or at the very least not the focus of this. Basic maths and science.

My first thought is that they are not given the same number as those they hold on the periodic table, perhaps the difference?

Also, with his second message to everyone, perhaps his use of hexadecimal was a clue to what we have to do to solve this. I at the very least will try,

 		I have used many atomic properties with the position on that image, and I haven't found jack shit yet. I figured I would be on the right path if they translated to "green", but not yet. Still trying.

Btw, Watchman, I never focused on weeks or the Karmic calendar any further, I just mentioned them. Good to know you're not able to read my thoughts! Razz

So I got this email a little while ago:

A=1, B=2 and so on...
Should numbers not be your strength, then look to others - their calculative minds can learn from your wisdom.

The Watchman.


"Ex uno plures" was highlighted in green. This means "From one, many" and has a lot to do with the idea of plurality, meaning people that come together to share one mind.

The "A=1, B=2 and so on" was hidden text.

Edit: Almost immediately after, the solution came to me with the aid of a friend. Using that hint, we have everything we need. I'm putting the solution and the answer in spoilers, just in case.

Solution:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Each element represents a number on the periodic table. They are also given numbers in the petri dish. "Removing one from another" means to subtract the number given on the petri dish from the atomic number, giving you numbers that stay within the 1-26 range. Using the "A=1, B=2" hint, just substitute them in and you get your message.


Answer:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
When run through the solution above, you get the following:

Golem you call forest takes his energy from the Green stop himx

The highlighted green elements spell this, which I have yet to make sense of: GESRS


Now...what to do next?

 		Ugh, I got GESRS a while ago and thought it should have said GREEN, so I abandoned that thought. That blows...

Congrats dude.

Edit--The next step is to stop Forest. But actually, we will be waiting until August 23rd. The autumnal equinox.

 		Why do we have to choose?

I am not clear on what "stop him" means. Does it mean deactivate the golem Forest? I asked the watchman this but just got a autoresponder reply. Forest is not the problem imo. I don't remember Forest ever mentioning green. The problem is probably Father. So deactivating Forest would not help the green fix whatever problem they are having.

 		No, as Forest is a golem he is animated by magic a.k.a. the Green.

Thus stopping Forest and cutting off his energy supply would result in his death/loss of animation.


Father seems to be an inherent part of Forest.

 		All the Watchman wants is for Forest to stop draining the power of the Green. Father needs to be stopped, if he is responsible for reanimating Forest. The Green is very delicate, yet strong, even in its current stature.

 		ddl, why do you think "Father seems to be an inherent part of Forest"? If Forest is a golem then that would explain why he has always repeatedly said Father must be "obeyed" since golems seems to always obey the person who activates them.

Great point. Do we still know who Father is? He might be fully aware of what he's doing to the Green, but not Forest.
