oh for god sake it's not a damn cat's eye. if nolan intended for it to be it wouldn't just look like a blurry light. it'd be the same thing if a picture was taken of anne hathaway in the catwoman suit on street with a stop light behind her and people would be all OMGWTFTHAT'SBANESEYE.

whilst i appreciate your opinion i think its way to early to have a go at people for coming up with ideas, it could be all manor of things and it could be nothing at all maybe we should wait and see rather than lay into each others opinions
Thing is, while he was kind of a dick about it, he is right. That is NOT a cat's eye... and the picture isn't getting brighter, and there is nothing special about the twitter accounts the script on @thefirerises can't properly reach. I really wish those rumors would die because that is just people's imaginations running wild.

The camera theory is interesting. It would certainly indicate there is someone that Bane is looking at having their picture taken as well... Interesting to think about. Can't say I'm 100% on board, but it certainly makes sense.

I definitely want to look into those Igor Cesar/Fire of Asshurbanipal theories. I have no opinion one way or another as of now, but they are fun to think about, if not a huge stretch with the little we know.

yeah sorry i didn't mean to be a dick about it. that was my bad. i appreciate creative input just as much as the next guy. i just remember back to the TDK viral for instance when people would let their mind tell them something that wasn't there and then 90 people would start claiming it as fact and went nowhere.

if, and i really hope, it's being run by 42E more than likely the image will stay until one day it disappears and there's a new path to follow. it wouldn't be something as cryptic and vague as an out of focus and poorly lit random part of a picture that was the background on set.

I'd probably say that for artistic reasons it's probably the light at the end of the tunnel - for when Bane gets out of prison. His sole focus, his living breath, his yadaa yadda.

Helps set up the sense that crushing Batman is what keeps him going.

But what do I know?? I'm merely an AI construct.

Unfortunately, I can't identify the audio software in use...

I used Adobe Audition and looked at the spectral frequency which showed the hidden tag. That's crazy inventive.

It was used in other ARGs as well, including the Portal 2 ARG earlier this year.

I just wanna know how they do it. =p

Well to find tags such as that one I tend to use "Sonic Visualizer" (http://www.sonicvisualiser.org/) which is freeware and does not need any installation.

However I have no idea which program could be used to create such tags in an audio file. Most probably some professional sound editing software.

Plotting tweets on Bane Mosaic

Coming to this a bit late, so this has likely already been tried, but just to verify - has anyone attempted to plot the accounts tweeted from #thefirerises onto the Bane Mosaic? Assuming the accounts are on the mosaic, it would be one way to form the next breadcrumb.

Never thought of that. I just assumed everyone was being retweeted.

Awesome, people, I'm in.
Just a question: how did you get this hash showable in Audacity? I used "Spectrum form" as "view form", and it shows me something like the picture before, just without the hash in it. Do I have to configure the spectrum view mode in Audacity? (I have Beta 1.3.13 version)

I never did. Just make sure it's properly zoomed out.

Unfortunately the spectograms that Audacity generates don't have a high enough resolution to see this stuff. (At least they never worked for me) Which was also the problem I had when analyzing the files from the (now dead?) Soundguy ARG. I had looked at the spectrum but it just wasnt detailed enough to make any sense of it.

After discarding Audacity for this type of analysis (it is still great for any other sound editing), I tested Sonogram and Sonic visualizer, which both provided a good result.

(Sorry for all of the OT stuff xD)

Check this: Coagula Light. This program (freeware for individual home users) converts an image data into a series of frequencies (sound waves) that lets you to hide a text in a sound file WAV.

You can find some tutorials on youtube.

So, IMO the final audio file (showing this spectrum with the hash in it) has been made mixing 2 audio files: the chanting one plus the audio file with the sound waves created from the image data.

BTW: as Aesculapius mentined earlier, Audacity (for mac) worked fine for me, showing the same spectrum form that he posted linking to a screenshot, on page 3 of this thread.

Awesome! I will check it out. Also, I'm a windows user (regrettably). =p It's true that it can be hard to see those images with files where the characters are more random if not done properly, but it's doable

I've used Audiopaint for making spectrograms from images... I haven't checked out Coagula, but it looks promising!
For visualizing the spectrogram, I'll also recommend Sonic Visualiser... two great apps!
