On that note, a friend tells me that we are supposed to see an official trailer on the 15th. I haven't bothered to confirm/deny. Anyone know?

Well the previews aren't always the same on certain dates, because I remember hearing about a preview for Tron: Legacy before movies that I had seen when they first came out, and they weren't there at the time. I believe they have set reels to play, so they may be authorized to show them beginning on the 15th.

TDKR Teaser
I would not be surprised.
The Dark Knight teaser premiered around the end of July 07, a full year ahead of the release and in conjunction with Comic-Con. It stands to reason that a similar approach would be in line for TDKR. As to a film attachment, theaters get different mandates for trailers. Most of the time they have an exact list of trailers to attach which includes trailers that come canned with the film. Every once in a while there's an open "slot" to place a G or PG rated trailer to a specific film.
That being said, the next film I plan on seeing is Captain America so hopefully they attach the teaser to that print.

Most importantly, remember that it will be a TEASER. Likely no actual footage. But hopefully a hidden clue or two for the game.
