I don't think this necessarily means that this site is part of the WRB, but it does make me think its done by the same people. As a web application developer, I know that we often re-use code from existing projects to not have to reinvent the wheel.. it's possible they just used this code that already existed for WRB, which would kind of explain why that part is commented out. It is a little strange/sloppy for that to go to production though. I guess time will tell!

The words "Misdion Icefly" were thrown in and now I'm out of the loop.

OK, so I have been playing around with a couple of things while waiting for the good old countdown to end, or something awesome to arrive in the mail.

First off, the video from Bonnaroo of missionicefly is now linked from missionicefly.com under the link to testsubjectsneeded, definitely worth watching. Clearly they planted a lot of cameras in the crowd. Already linked previously in this forum, but:

http://youtu.be/Rh-6owRbFvQ

You can also become a subscriber in case they post more videos. One of the tags is human preservation project. Click that tag and you will find that there is a high quality youtube of the flash videos that play during the questions.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oP0EOoUUH0c

This makes me think maybe there is more to learn from these videos. I watched them a couple of times and noticed that a couple of screens, most notably the hands holding the squid, are stereoscopic images formatted for red cyan glasses. This makes me wonder if going through the video frame by frame with red and/or cyan lenses would reveal anything. Unfortunately, I'm not real good at video editing, does anyone know how to download and format this video so you could advance frame by frame and analyze some of the faster shots? I would be happy to do the leg work if someone could point me to a way to do it.

Also, for those who have an icefly copter in their possession, I found if you unscrew the LED top and look inside there is a short character string. Mine is 'S37131'. Not sure if this is relevant or just the number placed there by the manufacturer, but I would be curious if everyone has the same character string.

Just something to keep us busy for the next 2 weeks Smile

As far as the Test Subjects Needed tag goes, this is just a fan of iJustine (a youtube gamer personality) who followed the link from the E3 lead and posted the video. Probably not part of the game itself.

Feel free to examine the video, though. I don't think anyone has tried to take it apart yet.

Also, just followed the Icefly youtube.

unclear, I was thinking the exact same thing, re-used code that's already on a server.

Nostromo, thanks for further 42E confirmations. I uncovered some other clues on page 3. Seattleweekly.com even listed the QR code in their ad index under 42 Entertainment. The direct link no longer shows it but you can see my screen grab here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=844094#844094
ETA: Unless you are specifically linking missionicefly.com to 42E, in that case nevermind my ramblings. I just naturally assume that any confirmed IG website leads back to 42E. Still, good job.

location based theory

I live in the general area of Marerro, (sp?) and I haven't been contacted in any way, so I doubt it's location based, I put all of the necessary information in. My account is in the works, otherwise I would be using it, just waiting on my confirmation email from UF.

As little 'plot' as we seem to have still, you gotta admit that the LED drop was a cool idea. Very much akin to the 5 Gum commercials, with people mesmerized, staring intently up at the clouds of nanobot-like creatures forming shapes...

Please please please let there be a story to follow, an adventure to take part in, and not just the reveal of a new 5 Gum flavour...

I'm with you bruce.

I've got all 32 combinations saved. Not sure what to do with them though. I'm looking for a dissimilar shape, but they all have at least a pair. Most of them are symmetrical about some axis too. Hmm.

Aye, I agree with that, but still it is a nice high quality version of the flash videos from the sit. I just figured the youtube posting by of the site videos would provide the easiest means to examine them more thoroughly. I have the video saved as an .flv, just need to find a player that will allow me to advance frame by frame, anyone know of a good .flv player?

I recommend Media Player Classic (it's currently my default, for most all major video types)
