I was watching the www.missionicefly.com site as the countdown reached three days exacltly. Nothing changed. I refreshed the page, no changes.

I assume it was the same way before, but I did just notice that when you first go to the site, (or refresh), the little "eye" in which I am guessing will open when the countdown ends, it starts out open and closes once the page is fully loaded.

Sorry for my run-on sentence. I need a soda. Smile

Also, I am in Seattle and am willing to help if I can, but not sure I can do much.

If you still need that ground agent at Orlando, I think I can do it. I'm still waiting on my package, but it's been almost 2 weeks. I'm sure I'll be getting it within the next 3 days.

I've never done groundwork before, is there anything I should know or be on the lookout for? Anything 42E seems to do normally?

If we had any specific location I could make it to Dallas (I live in Fort Worth) but if it's going to be on short notice there's no way I can make it then.

Problem is, we don't know what to look for. Atleast we have Orlando covered.

Nice. Where abouts are you?[/quote]
North Delaware. About an hour from Philly. (hence my disapointment that it's not on the list.) I'm unemployed at the moment, so I'll probably be free unless I get a job interview or something.

even if its small in a matter of hours turn on your local radio station and ull get hits from ppl calling in about it,

also depending on where, (if its big itll be in the local centers (like Madison square garden or the park and such) if its small they'll prob be setting up a big tent or something in a parking lot (personally i think abandoned warehouses and such would be awesome

I just thought of something. We may want to cross refference wrigley and these cities. Or events on the given day. I have about 3 different hits for wrigley in Chicago, two for the gum company, one on wrigley field. As for events, in Chicago, there are two to note. A radio station's party in the park at Millenium, and the Taste Of Chicago during which is the country music festival. Try that in the other cities, we may get some idea as the the Where.

I don't know Orlando really since I just moved to FL. (I mean, I've been there, but wouldn't know what locations they might use. Maybe Downtown Disney?) I haven't found any relevant sounding events down there for this week; but the permits aren't public record, or at least aren't online. I could call but I'm not sure they'd tell me. No hits for ORL + Wrigley, aside from a few people who have that last name. It's better to have more "agents" than we need; often this stuff requires cooperation. Are you actually in Orlando?

Carnageblack as a former Chicagoan, Taste of Chicago is a good bet. Maybe they'd even do outside Wrigley Field? (Just for the lulz)

True, but the Field has little affiliation other then name now a days. What I might do, is stay by the taste and if it is the Field, run the red.

We now have the confirmed list of cities (and times/locations will likely be revealed in short order)
- Los Angeles, CA
- Phoenix, AZ
- Las Vegas, NV
- Portland, OR
- Dallas, TX
- Washington, DC
- Nashville, TN
- Chicago, IL
- Denver, CO
- Orlando, FL
- Seattle, WA
- Boston, MA
- New York, NY
- San Francisco, CA
- Atlanta, GA
Good good. Both myself and a user DjChristensen have reported being ready for Phoenix. How do people usually handle this sort of thing anyway? Team up? Cover different areas? Race to/knife fight over the booty? If this winds up being in field and not registration of some sort, this will be my first time doing the field part of an arg. Don't know proper argiquitte.

You may need to team up, but keep a knife handy. lol. Try to meet up if possible. You can cover more ground. That can come as a plus. But who knows, it might be something like, find a person giving out black envelopes.

Yeah that sounds like the best way to handle it. The last events were in the downtown area anyway, so no point being up there. Quick enough to get up that way if you need to.

Orlando's going to be a tough one, since it's not as centralized as many of these cities, and there's not much public transit... for example if I was doing Atlanta, I might use the area near the aquarium/World of Coke. If they want foot traffic from non-ARGers it'd be good for that, and it's not far from Peachtree Center for transit.

Recommendations for first-timers: (please add to this, anyone else) it depends on how complex they're going with this, but better to be prepared. If you're doing ground duty, phone set up for GPS mapping is a huge help. If you don't have a QR scanner on your phone, install one. Bring a laptop too if you have one, faster than a phone if you can get wifi. Buy a flashlight-sized blacklight if you don't have one. Might want to bring a multitool/scissors, can't go wrong with having tools (getting envelope open in a BIG hurry, maybe? heh). Backpack with some snacks and water/caffeine is good. If we don't have info beforehand about where to be, pick a central location, preferably a cafe with wifi to wait.

For net support, a local person who can be on Mapquest/Google duty is great.

I'm actually 2 or 3 hours south of Orlando. o.o'
Never quite been there myself.
How strange as well, I'm also a previous Chicagoan of whom recently moved further south.

How many former Chicagoans are there? And anyone else in the city?
