coming out of lurking mode...

I will be on the ground making and attempet for the LA drop.
For previous ARGs Los Angeles has been one of the last citys to go live
but from the order on the site it seem we might go first, for a change.

for the bowling ball drop during the TDK ARG several people where waiting at the locker room waiting for the locker number and combination, so the decided to distribute the lockers room into section for each person, it was left for chance to decide who got the drop.

During the Flynn Live dorp, it was the fist on sight and complete the task that got the drop.

The one request that I have for the person/people that get the drop... please dont take off right away let others join in the fun and see what you got.

It sucks when you get there and there is five people looking for the package and some on already took off with it.

Events in Seattle = not much

So I checked to see if there were any events in Seattle on 6/30/11 and found pretty much nothing...

Why am I getting all nervous for Thursday? I am seriously contemplating taking the day off, or at least going to work late.

Fuzzy Guest that is super funny. Now carnageblack is going to be stuck by himself because all the Chicagoans are in FL? lol.

And yeah, live drop people should hang around if they're on site first, unless they're instructed they have to leave. Saves a lot of drama.

*pouts* Leaving my all alone in this city... Meanies. JK.

Besides, people want to know what was found even if it's just a code.

What I might do, is stay by the taste and if it is the Field, run the red.

Yeah that sounds like the best way to handle it. The last events were in the downtown area anyway, so no point being up there. Quick enough to get up that way if you need to.

Orlando's going to be a tough one, since it's not as centralized as many of these cities, and there's not much public transit... for example if I was doing Atlanta, I might use the area near the aquarium/World of Coke. If they want foot traffic from non-ARGers it'd be good for that, and it's not far from Peachtree Center for transit.

Recommendations for first-timers: (please add to this, anyone else) it depends on how complex they're going with this, but better to be prepared. If you're doing ground duty, phone set up for GPS mapping is a huge help. If you don't have a QR scanner on your phone, install one. Bring a laptop too if you have one, faster than a phone if you can get wifi. Buy a flashlight-sized blacklight if you don't have one. Might want to bring a multitool/scissors, can't go wrong with having tools (getting envelope open in a BIG hurry, maybe? heh). Backpack with some snacks and water/caffeine is good. If we don't have info beforehand about where to be, pick a central location, preferably a cafe with wifi to wait.

For net support, a local person who can be on Mapquest/Google duty is great.
My phone is antiquated (Seriously can't even find a proper QR reader that works for it, and the camera is kinda busted anyway), but my laptop can handle most of that. I also know the area really well. I did have a place in mind to wait... but the logic behind it can wait till after the day has passed. =3 Mostly worried about GPS tho (I mostly rely on google maps and experience). My laptop has QR covered. Multitool doable. Blacklight definitely doable.
