I will either give a thumbs up or a thumbs down for me going to the Dallas drop tonight. I have to see if I can get permission for the excursion.

Here's hoping! I would really love to do a live event.

If you give a thumbs down, I guess I'll be going instead. o:

I wonder how someone becomes the "volunteer"?
The first person to a set location gets to register as the person to follow the signal maybe?
Or do you all follow clues via text message and the first person to the package is deemed the "volunteer"? (For being tested on! Laughing )

One thing that stood out to me in a previous post was "A radio station's party in the park at Millenium" we also have a a "Mall of Millenia" in Orlando and people have mentioned a Millennium show? Maybe this is a correlation?
Hmm... We need to cross-ref this in the other cities. That just might be a hint we're looking for.

Only thing "Millenium" I could find in DC is the Millenium stage at the Kennedy Center. But all events happening on the 30th there do not seem related or relevant at all.

Aw crap, my plans are falling through, Badly. I need to go on foot. Depending on the drop location, I'll miss it completely. What's worse is that I may have to depend on my ipod for the text, but there's no telling on whether or not I'll have wifi access to receive it. This is bad....

This is crazy

OMG this is crazy. I wish I was close to one of these cities.
Since, I'm not I'll do anything I can to help online.

Would this really be for just 5 gum now that we have to go to cities across the U.S.? Seems a bit much for just gum.

I'm thinking when the clock counts down we will be given a clue which will lead us to the set location where we will be given further instructions. whoever reaches the location that the countdown reveals first will be the volunteer.

ok but there IS a millennium location... this may not be a huge event at these places but they could be the clue to get a drop on the locations.

Damn shame for Philly, people are taking ground there right?

Anyway, I'm near by Philly, I basically look out my window and could see the departing planes, if they are to drop something, I'd be first to know for Philly.

here is the text on the site:

ATTENTION TEST SUBJECTS: Starting at 00:00:00:00:000 we will need one volunteer in each of the listed locations to follow a signal.

Details:
• Bring a mobile phone with you (standard text messaging rates apply)
• You will need to use your online user name from TestSubjectsNeeded.com during the mission (register here in advance)
• Only one package available per location (first come, first served)

Anyone I team up with, we would have to decide who gets it.

I'm cool not receiving it.

Re: Millennium in Portland

To add to the Millennium Theory...

The only place with "Millennium" in the name in Portland is Music Millennium,
its a pretty well known music store.

For some of the FL stuff, there was discussion of people being in different locations in the city; whomever was closest got the drop, but then other folks still got to see what it was firsthand. Plus then I guess we have the advantage over non-uF folks Wink There was at least one instance where there was enough swag to split (no pressure on the "volunteer", just saying)

*edit* picked a random city out of curiousity; there's a Millennium Hotel in Boston. Could easily all be a coincidence though.

For those curious, not that IS how things will play out, but this is the thread that covered the Toronto drop for an event very similar to this for the Flynn Lives campaign from 42 Entertainment - http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30978
It was also one person and one package. (there are other threads for other cities as well)

Important to note:
As best we can (at least as far as this forum's concerned), try to play fair and nice - whether you're the first person there, or perhaps missed it by seconds. Play nice with other people who might show up before/after you if you go to your city's location. Have fun, and yeah, play nice Smile If there's swag, decide amongst yourselves how you'll split it up if you do, but try to respect the first finder's choice. Assuming of course it plays out similarly... who knows what it'll be like this time. *shrug*
