Flowing water sounds a lot like static...

Although this is a bit old, I was watching this tape again and I noticed something. Right before the mysterious hooded character appears it sounds as if the door of the car is opened and closed again. It also looks like the figure came out of the car. This could mean that the hooded person was either in Jay's car....or it was Jay himself in one of his Black Outs, which could be why he doesn't remember the 7 months.

moreautemps (page 10) and Feiticera (23) both have pointed this out.

From #40 (Jay)

From #41 (Hoody)

Hoody followed the same path that Jay took going in the same direction. When Jay was filming there is audio distortion over the length of the path and his camera cut out at the crooked tree. This is not the case for the Hoody video. Make what you will of this.
Earlier in Jay's walk he comes across a stream. Hoody comes across a stream (The same one? See for yourself. #40 at 1.41 and #41 at 2.09) right after the crooked tree shot.
But remember, they both walked the same direction through the crooked tree path. Unless someone backtracked this needs an explanation.

I noticed this right away. I always assumed everyone else noticed it, because that tree is SO FLIPPING OBVIOUS.

I've taken it as meaning Hoody wants Jay to know that he (Hoody) knows where Jay has been.

It's fairly obvious when you watch the two videos one after another, not so much when watching them one-by-one as they're released.

Not sure what it means, if it means anything.

Since this is a relatively old entry I'm not going to bother reading through the entire thread, so sorry if this has already been mentioned.

When Jay dropped the camera at the end of Entry #40, it landed upright and stays like that.

At the beginning of Entry #41, it's upside-down.

Something knocked it over during the blackout.
