MAP! What Map?

When I saw one of the Trailers for Super8...Deputy Lamb was looking at a map of located missing dogs. Did you notice the circle it made on the map?

What if you connected the dots across from one another and triangulated the center of the circle...would that lead to the location of the monster?

Maybe that is what you do with this comic drawing. You line up the dotted line on the drawing to a dotted line on the map and the dot patterns on the map to the transecting lines from the drawing, and voila! Monster location.

Just a thought.

Oh, perhaps. I have to check it out. Which trailer was it again (there are too many at the moment)? Smile

Map it Baby!

Check out Trailer #2 from the www.super8-movie.com website.

At the 1:18 time mark is shown the map of missing dog dots.

And yes, there is a dotted line on the left side of the map.

Maybe you can do a screen grab of the map and make a trace of the comic book end panel. Then lay the trace over the screen grab and see what you get.

Good Luck!

Step right up and see kosmopol and his amazing dotted line

Yes Kos, that's the map I was referring to.

Too bad there is not a better image so that you can lay a transparency of the circles and lines over it.

One of 500....
Beat Up By FedEx!

Today I got an envelope from Paramount Pictures/super8.

A Limited Edition Print, 1 of 500, so says the included certificate of authenticity.

It's the artwork of the last panel of the last page of that super8 comic book insert. Done by the illustrator of the comic...Tommy Lee Edwards, As intended by JJ Abrams.

And not done by any contest participant as I had erroneously mentioned earlier. (note to self...read the fine print before posting).

Looks great, will have to post a photo of it later.

It would be "Mint", had not FedEx Delivery Service Crushed it!

Oh Well, Beggars can't be choosey.

Did Anyone Else Get This?

Creature Feature

I did not submit any artwork for the contest, so why I received this I do not know.

I did send for the Rocket Poppeteer Certificate a while back, and have not received it. So this may be what they are sending out as compensation for not getting it. It did not come from Minot, South Dakota.

It came from:

Andrew Rowe
Paramount Pictures
5555 Melrose Ave.
Los Angeles, CA

Maybe it had something to do with the Editing Room.

It measures 12" wide and 17" Tall, printed on Heavy Card Stock.
