It looks Asian to me, but I don't think those are Japanese characters. Doubt Chinese either, could be Korean?

It reminds me of the Phoenician alphabet. It isn't, though, but it could be something similar. Or it could just be completetly random glyphs.

I lean toward Greek largely due to the presence of the omega character at the joining point of 1 and 4. The rest of it might as well be alien Cthulhu language to me. Laughing

I received the same email as everyone else along with image 6, and I have sent a short reply.

Hey guys!
As a person who happens to have a Latin dictionary, I just thought that I'd chime in by saying that "abyssus oris" would translate to "mouth of the abyss"

(oris can mean: shore/coast; mouth, speech, expression; face; pronunciation. (it can also mean 'burn' but it is less common)) Out of all those words, I thought mouth made the most sense here.

Pre-post EDIT: Actually, just noticed that, strangely enough, "oris" is the possessive there, meaning it would actually be "the mouth's abyss." Could just be a PM mistake though. (Google Latin translate sucks) Or, perhaps, "the shore's abyss."

Having taken Latin before, I thought that litus (genitive/possessive litoris) meant shore, so I'm not sure how you found that "oris" meant shore. The dictionary I have (Cassell) also mentions that oris in the genitive can simply be translated as "opening." If abyssus is fifth declension singular, then then the word can be genitive/possessive.

So, that means abyssus oris can be translated as opening of the abyss

Edit: Looking over it I realized that what I wrote can be taken in a negative manner, so for clarification purposes, what I wrote is strictly clarification. I mean no ill-will towards duke9509.

I think opening of the abyss jives pretty well with the idea Lukas has given of a mysterious cult with rituals. Practically every mysterious cult in fiction has some kind of ritual for opening something unpleasant.

Also, looking at the email, Lukas also says their pictures have hidden meaning. The first two things I tried, even before I came here to see if anyone else had gotten the email, was to use Camo to see if there was anything hidden there and to invert the colors and see if doing a negative would turn up anything hidden. No go on either case, and looking at 3 in Notepad doesn't turn anything up, but someone better with stegging may want to check and see if the individual files have anything in them.

Actually, you know, I misread the thing. Laughing You're right about the fact that it couldn't be shore. We could continue to sit and debate exact meaning, but, as esteed said, I think we now get the gist.

Yup yup! \(^_^)/ Also, GIMP's color level editor highlighted a less visible string of characters above the white text near the bottom right corner:

The letters look almost like Klingon, but that's unlikely. It doesn't seem to be a Star Trek ARG

I think I've pinned down the alphabet. I showed the combined image to a few friends, hoping that one of them would know the damn dam. (No, that joke will never get old.) One of them did think the dam was in the Transformers movie, but I'm still working on that, because that dam was the Hoover and to me it just doesn't look like the design matches up.

Another friend was looking at the alphabet on the image and is pretty sure it's Enochian. She provided this link and I think we have our alphabet.

Does anyone else see a horse in this pic that was color altered?
The font looks like it may be the Empires from Star Wars.
