At the risk of plugging my own blog,

Dare 2 Die: Classic Slendy, black tie, only difference is he's the creation of another higher being (Zalgo)

cool risk bro

I'll make some more contributions.

Breaker: Multiple variations, can be killed, one is missing a bone.
No Escape From Reality: Vanilla Slendy, has the added ability of being in a really bad blog.
Men in Black: Two of them, both of whom have faces and fight aliens.
Scarface: Snorts a great deal of cocaine, uses modern weaponry, also has a face.
Dr. Who: Slender Man/"Grey" hybrid? Who knows.
Moby Dick: Slender Man is no longer wearing a suit. His tentacle use is not shown. He is also a giant white whale.
How I Met Your Mother: Deep burgundy tie. Has the ability to control people using his tentacles as puppet strings. Secretes fluids as he teleports (periwinkle?) Possibly the mother. As of yet, not seen in the show.

Never read the entire thing, but H(a)unting was one of the only blogs to have Slenderman communicate with actual text to the protagonist, right?

Not exactly. There were also a few poorly done blogs that ripped H(a)unting off. H(a)unting, incidentally, probably counts as a poorly done blog itself. And still it continues the wifin'.

Anyway, why are we focusing on just his physical attributes? He has some very distinct personalities as well. In Marble Hornets, he's pretty passive, to the point that we still don't know why exactly he acts the way he does. In Tribe Twelve and EMH, he's much more aggressive.

I actually think that my favorite incarnation is the MLA one, though. There's something about him that reminds me of that one quote that came with one of the original Slender Man pictures: "we didn't want to go, we didn't want to kill them, but its persistent silence and outstretched arms horrified and comforted us at the same time." He seems affable, gentlemanly, and comforting, but in the most sinister way possible. The way he acts around Michael seems almost affectionate and welcoming. Together with the gloved hands (that remind me just a bit of a hit man) and more human height, he's definitely the most humanoid of the incarnations I've seen, making him, in my opinion, more creepy.

You forgot a few.

Just Another Fool: Wore a stylish fedora.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Red tie, brown suit as opposed to his usual black attire, is a sponge, has the ability to travel in time to before when he was created.

@DaLadybugMan: I'd actually say The Operator IS pretty agressive, we just never catch him in the act. He implicitly made Alex bleed and may also have been the cause of the blood in the house Jay visited a few times as well as in Entry #29.

I'd just like to say that I hate whenever he's seen wearing a tie that isn't black. Maybe I'm just a Nazi when it comes to the original mythos, but it was always black. When I see a vlog throw in something else I can't help but roll my eyes. A red one? That looks silly, and is just too humanistic. I always saw that as laziness on the PM's part, who couldn't bother to just go out and buy a black tie.

See, this is the kind of attitude that really frustrates me a lot of the time. There could be dozens of things to focus on that are sub-par, and you're choosing the color of a tie? This takes fandom to a new high, which is also a new low.

Also, there's the whole you don't own the fandom thing. Yeah. That.

Disclosure: This isn't meant to be personally motivated. It's something I've said before, and will probably say again.

I remember visiting the MH wikidot and reading about someone missing the point by questioning how slender man got a suit rather than some other kind of clothes. Because when Lovecraft's imagination becomes "reality", my first question is why it wears a tux.

If I did a vlog - and I can't, I haven't the time, energy or ability - I'd fuck with his appearance and nature a lot.

For starters, he'd have a black head sometimes. And maybe a black shirt. Just all black. Because why not? And then maybe all white with white head, as white sometimes signifies death in parts of Asia.

And then periwinkle.

There may be a better place to post this, but I think the discussion of tie color makes this thought (which has been rattling through the ol' synapses for a fair bit now) germane.

The frequent references to "TEH ORIGINAL MYTHOS!!!!!1111one!" smack of elitism (even typing such a loaded word flashes me back to the "pretentious" debacle, forgive me) for the sake of same, especially since there is no canonical "original mythos" when it comes to the Slenderman story. We're codifying as we go along here, folks. Hate to break this to you, but the only valid criterion by which any of these vlogs or blogs can be judged is quality. Fidelity to the source is simply not a valid griping point in this situation, since the source to which you're suggesting we be faithful could charitably be described as nebulous, and less charitably as downright nonexistent.

Let's grant ourselves some perspective here. The all-important sacred text to which we're meant to adhere is a thread on a message board. Like, I dunno, this one.

This isn't fan fiction. This isn't even professional tie-in fiction. We're not playing around in someone else's world. There is no Wizards of the Coast Official Slenderman Sourcebook, and there is no well-established Alpha-Text by which the rest of the genre is judged.

THIS IS THE ORIGINAL MYTHOS. We're making it up as we go.

Which is to say, again, that my only litmus is quality. Does it work? Then it works. If qaqa's Slenderman waltzes through his (as of yet sadly nonexistent) videos in a pink tutu with a set of Garbage Pail Kids trading cards stapled to his face, and if it scares the be-fuckin'-Jeeeebus out of me, the mythos hath been expanded, and the series WORKS!

And where would you take the original mythos even? From Victor Surge? His slenderman has eyes and a mouth, if you haven't noticed...

Honestly it doesn't matter what Slenderman looks like or does, to me Slenderman has never been consistent, so much that inconsistency is a part of his mythos, atleast that's what I think.
