I'll be at the Toronto show - as long as I'm there early enough. About to head out, and should be there 4:30-5ish. I know of one other I believe who will be there, but I really hope it's not full up by then. I expect it won't be, but if it is... wtf? Razz

And yes, even printed emails can be spoofed... the email content has nothing identifiable or unique in it, only the email headers, and printing those all depends on where you're printing from. Heck, save the email as text/html, and you can edit it yourself. Plus, how would they know 1) if you are the owner of the email or 2) the email was registered (I sincerely doubt they'll be checking email addresses against a list of registered emails) and 3) there was no instruction to ensure your email address was visible anyway.

I suspect there will be crowds of last minute people and friends, and friends of friends, most of which will either have never heard of the viral stuff, or even Super 8. That's just the way the cookie crumbles... Rolling Eyes

Not sure if this will be any different but for The Dark Knight our names were on a list and we had to show ID. In my rush I didn't put my full name or my wife's full name on the sign up. I don't think it'll be a problem.

Heads up:
I'm located in Coral Springs, FL near Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Fandango now has tickets on sale for theaters in Boca Raton and Sunrise FL with show times starting at 11am for Thursday (tomorrow) June 9th.

I snagged a pair of tickets for a 3:45pm IMAX showing in Sunrise.

Yep , that would be good, but there's no indication that'll be the case. No further instructions than 'print email and take with'.

ETA: First check with theatre agent in TO- tickets will be given out at 8:30. Looking for more info about plans for the lineup, since it is inevitable.

I'm gonna go without a print out and just my I.D. due to previous experiences with paramount. If they want to turn anal all of a sudden and want a printout there's a fedex kinko's right aroundt he corner of the arc light.

Australia got a bad deal as well.

No promos, no midnight screening, no 711, NO IMAX... didn't even get a cert for RP.

It's been a fun ride just the same I guess...

what is this "sneak preview" thing?
is it just seeing the movie earlier and not at a midnight showing thursday night/friday morning?

edit: like i know you get a free popcorn or something, but is it even the full movie? or it IS the full movie?

in probably the words of a certain poppeteer
"IS THERE SWAG INVOLVED???"
XD

Yea.. basically select theaters are doing IMAX only one day early, so they will have showtimes throughout the day tomorrow, rather than just one at midnight.

Is anyone in line for a screening right now (specifically, San Francisco, but any info from any screening would be good)?

I'm not going to get there until right about when the doors open (I got work until then). I'm wondering how the lines are looking at this point.. like if it's already getting crowded, or if getting there as the doors open will be good enough.

If you are at a screening line right now, can you post how many hours until the screening starts at your location, and also an estimate of how many people are lined up and the number of people your theater will accomodate (if you know).

That would be awesome!! I won't get there until like 7.45 - 8.00. I'm just praying they didn't insanely overbook it, and that a lot of people that RSVP'd either won't show up, or will get there around 8.00 as well. I'm so nervous, I can barely get any work done today =/

the theater seats 1300, but i read somewhere, (can't remember where)
that they only accept 700...
now i think that's still a HUGE number for sf..
