I did some screenshots from the footage, as well as you too, so let's share it here.
And let collect all the footage tiles to the huge picture of the scientific discovery.
Let's rock.
Here is my blog for some screens, btw. http://merzmensch.blogspot.com/2011/03/super8-s8editingroomcom.html

water stained letter drawing vs cube in editing room video In the editing room video, scientists appear to be studying something... looks like a rubics cube that is spinning... (actually, i dont know if any of you remember the original willy wonka movie had a candy in it that had different little cubes on it, i think it also looks like that- but thats neither here nor there)...
anyway, point being is what if the item they are studying in the editing room clips is also the water stained drawing in the recent letter/note that was on STIES...
generally square shaped object with other smaller squares on it...
do you see it too?

Yes I do! I think you're right.
9 Squares on a square, each one with 1-3 squares on it.

I think you're spot on...here's the proof. You can see the corner squares with smaller cubes embedded clearly. (I changed the sketch image to enhance the main shape).
Sorry about the large images - would probably be easier to see side by side?

Have to agree - looks similar. I'm leaning towards the idea that the vitas relic is a larger object and there are several cubes that make it up. The lab footage shows a proper cube, yet the kids shot looks different in shape, with extra points. Perhaps the vitas relic comes apart in pieces, or was busted apart. The letter says "... the vitas relic is safe. Safer in some places than others but ..." which sounds like it is in many hiding places. I speculate that when the vitas relic was assembled, that's when things got out of hand.
I dunno? Thoughts?

The scene when the kids look at it certainly shows it's 'shape changing' properties.

Super 8 Super 8 The question I have is how do we get more of the shots unlocked? Also, Can someone check STIES to see if it updated, hopefuly the device? I cant believe JJ would leave us hanging to wait for new film clips when we have most of them already from previous trailers

How did the post cards in the Cloverfield ARG Appear - All at once ore a few at a time. - That was what hit me when I first saw it. But I was not Involved in Cloverfiled ARG. Came in after the fact.
Just a Question for the Clovies out there.

This is from my post in the new trailer thread -
It shows the odd behaviour of the clip rotation, as you start on clip 41, rotate and get to the 61 and 62 clips then rotate again and get the same clips but in a slightly different position.

I was watching the clip given and in the first part it says
"-exposing the crop to a large or-"
Remember the newspaper from STIES? It mentions something about crops and nuclear stuff.....
"-Even more surprising were their biological attributes. Most remarkably-"
I got nothin on that unless its the "foreign energy source" that Myterio mentioned....

When I click on the clips over there, it goes through the film countdown, then I only get "Scene Missing" title card footage. That mean they've taken the clips down already?

The film plays the entire length including the missing bits, when the line gets to the yellow bits it plays that part of the video.
There are only very small snippets available at the moment.
