I know it's not a great feat, but to me this is possibly the funniest entry in the series so far.

So a few things:

First off, Amy. Not a lot of people have been talking about her before this entry (and surprisingly, still few people are discussing her). Should the next few entries see a shift in gravitation?

Everyone's referring to the thing in the back seat of Alex's car (which we never get a clear shot of, by the way) as a hoodie. What's the indication that it's a hoodie? Furthermore, what's the point of Alex dropping off the camera, unmasking, and going back into the woods to find Jay running off like a girlyman? If we are to assume Alex and Hoody are one and the same then Alex's attitude, among other things, is entirely inconsistent with what we're given to understand.

Alex just can't be the Hoody. If he was why would he move his car next to Jay's after he returned the camera?

Other things I have noticed:

Jay's phone was on at the time he saw he had a missed message. You don't see him turn it on, you just see him calling is voicemail. So why didn't he pick up when Jay called him before? (Could be that he was driving at the time)

He's pretty pissed that Jay went into the woods (hence the cell phone throwing). Maybe he's scared, but why didn't he try to call Jay then? I think there went something wrong with the plan he had (whatever it was).

He has a chest-cam, maybe Jay used it later on. Or maybe Alex advised him to get it as well. (Quick note, did Jay ever told us if the tape from his chest cam already had footage on it?)

ToTheBark (I think it's Hoody) plays a significant role in this entry: The camera pans not once, but twice to the tree where he was sitting (first time to show the audience someone is there, a second time to show the audience he's gone).
I also think him and Alex are friendly, because he didn't mind being seen. However this doesn't means Alex knows what his face looks like (I'm thinking ToTheArk here).

So Jay runs Alex over in panic and the only thing Alex can say is an annoyed: "Jesus Christ"? Almost mocking Jay for being such a baby => Once again I think Alex knows more.

And finally alex who is pissed at Jay for losing the camera. The camera obviously is very important to Alex for whatever reason. + Alex seems very keen on getting away "Come on, let's go!" J: Today I'm done... A: WHY?!" "Just come on!"

What I get of all this? Alex wanted to take Jay somewhere but there is/was a deadline. Alex is pissed that Jay is wasting time (running about in the woods, weeping at a tree). Alex is pissed because he just want's to go already to wherever he needs to be. And he ordered Hoody (or Hoody suggested) to keep an eye on Jay while Alex was making his way to the park.

Sorry for the wall of text, hope it's useful!

is there an entry that takes place during the 7 months where a flashlight is used? i feel like the things we found in jays bag aren't just thrown in there randomly, especially not that key that jay specifically says he puts on his keyring. i think that will have great significance

Okay, so it doesn't look like Alex set up Jay to have that encounter. If anything, he doesn't understand why Jay would set himself up for it. He looks upset/angry when hearing Jay's message that he went into the woods. He yells at Jay and mocks his logic ("so you got lost in woods you've never been in"), and even seems surprised that the Operator was in those woods at all. Unless he was planning for Jay to post this footage after getting memory loss and opening a safe (which would have been almost a year in advance), Alex isn't putting on an act.

If that's the case, what's up with ToTheArk's messages of "lies" (during Alex's voice mail message) and "he lies" (in the latest response)? Alex not only heard Jay's message, but responded to it in an appropriate amount of time. The "lies" message, as well as some of the Entry footage, made it look like Alex was setting Jay up. Since this entry basically proves that wasn't what Alex was doing, what is ToTheArk referring to?

Could TTA be trying to frame Alex?

My impression was that the purpose of this entry was to eliminate Alex as a Hoody suspect. :\

I think too many people are jumping on the assumption that the random tan thing in the back of Alex's car is a hoodie. You don't even get a good enough look at it to tell it's a hoodie; usually when the creators want to drop hints they do it more clearly than that. Why would Alex put on a disguise, go get the camera, bring it back to Jay's car, piss off for a while, then find Jay and play dumb with him about the whole situation?

(edit: the "he lies" thing coming up would actually put an interesting twist on the above, but I'm still not convinced about alex being hoody.)

The hooded person by the tree matching the drawing in Intermission is a more blatant hint imo. I think what TTA was saying in Intermission was "hey dude, I was right there when that was happening, watching you by the tree and you didn't even notice me". It's his way of communicating, and he probably assumed Jay would see the footage whether he uploaded the video or not. (I'm also assuming that TTA is Hoody).

I also don't think that was Alex waving at Hoody. If that was even done for an in-game reason (it could have just been him adjusting his glasses or something) it was probably just to guide our eye in that direction subtly.

I think Alex being more angry about the camera than concerned about Jay mirrors his difficult personality at the beginning of the series, when he was lashing out at Seth and Tim over nothing.

I think Hoody is TTA, which makes my prime suspects (STILL) Seth and Brian.

(I read somewhere that there was some OOG reason ruling Seth out as a TTA suspect??? If anyone could tell me why please do, I was always a huge Seth==TTA supporter. :<)

remember in entry 26 how he wasn't filming himself or anything, he thought he was past all of that slendy nonsense. the second that his gf found the camera though, he appeared.

alex was filming himself in his car on the way to meet jay and then filmed the whole meetup. what's throwing me off now is that sometime during the meetup alex switched to the chestcam (seen by alex's two hands being shown near the end)

it's also worth noting that near the end before they get in their cars (before jay finds the camera), alex pans over to the tree the hooded figure was sitting under for at least 2-3 seconds. this could be insignificant though.

i feel like some part of our theories will get dismissed due to continuity errors/them overlooking things though, you can never really be sure what's put in the clip purposely and what is just a continuity error

Food for thought, he's freaked out by cameras more, but in entry 29, Alex? has both the chest cam and the regular camera, perhaps he was trying to make the operator appear? Maybe even to find Amy?

He's freaked out by tapes of the operator, but we see in this entry that he's still recording himself constantly, so I don't think cameras in general freak him out. I have another theory about the two cameras. The camera J used to film the operator is out of battery, but the tapes are still in it/it's still valuable, right? So maybe the camera J/Alex is carrying in 29 is the dead camera, not there for recording but just to keep it safe. Maybe he's just protecting the tapes and didn't want to take them out for some reason, maybe he still wants the camera just in case, but the chest cam could be necessary to actually film.

And pravado, you can ask J on twitter. I don't think there's a more direct way.

edit:

I think Alex could be pissed for a lot of reasons, J being the biggest one. He's had more experience with the Operator, he seems used to it-- doesn't even seem scared when J says Slendy's nearby. So J being so terrified and insisting that he can't even stay in the same area as the Operator when he should be worrying more about finding Amy must be pretty infuriating.
Not picking up his phone seems normal for him-- I don't think he's ever picked up when J called, or at least not recently (correct me if I'm wrong). And we saw that TTA has his number because he recorded his voicemail, so god only knows what kinds of calls he could be getting.
I'm not saying Alex isn't malicious, just that there could be other explanations.

This may be better off in another thread, and has probably already been pointed out, but when Jay drops the camera in Entry 40 in lands rightside-up. When Hoody/TTA/Whoever picks it up in Entry 41, it's upside-down.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Maybe this is just something Troy and co. overlooked,
but it's possible something significant happened in the 15 minutes between 40 and 41, which would complicate the timeline of events even further.

I like the part where J is sitting by the tree. He's acting like a little kid in trouble and Alex is his parent who's asking him what happened. Just think as J as a little kid in that part. Laughing

then that would mean totheark used that video as a reference for the drawing, and possibly knew that jay was gonna upload this entry.

Which would of course mean TTA is now psychic.

Not to mention that this tape came from Alex and was on the hard drive, so how did TTA even know he would show up sitting under a tree in one of the entries?

He didn't know. Isn't that why he asked, "DID YOU SEE ME?" in Intermission?

Totally believe that the did you see me was just a drawing he made from memory at the time. TTBlasky may be drawing weird images like Alex was toward the end of the shoot of MH. It's something that happens a lot in possession stories.

Perhaps the Ark is the hard drive and Jessica doing her own investigation needs it to put the entire puzzle together, so she becomes TTA and does what is needed to get it?

BTW: noskirt6....holy frak! great catch!

This all may have been said but I made it 6 pages and started forgetting what I was going to post:

SPEC/NOTES:
-The blood from noentry is Amy's (I know this has been said)
-One of the cuts of Alex walking through the woods looks like the path from noentry
-To consider Jessica being TTA we would need to know or even have an idea of her motivation of posting during season 1.
-It's possible that all the chest cam footage is from Alex which would mean J has Alex's hard drive.

I had more but I forgot, I'll contribute more when I read the rest of the thread.

ALSO

Please remember that season 1 was a lot of entries with few answers. I'm not saying they will all tie in together but people seem to refer S1 as this thing we all figured out.

Anyone notice that one of the areas Alex walks through on the way back to the parking lot looks just like the area at the beginning of Entry 29?

Ah, I was thinking you knew that, but thought that wasn't what was actually in the bottle.
