Agree with dinosauring. I would also attribute it to someone innocent (albeit unfortunately timed). Adjusting glasses (being a wearer as well I can relate), a slight itch, or even waving away a wasp or such! Like I said, innocent, but unfortunately timed.

That's what I'm going with. It would be a huge twist if it were a wave, though.

Hmm adjusting his glasses could be true. Kinda forgot that we're seeing footage from a chest cam so the raised hand might not be as raised as I thought

Alright I'll just lay low with my wild theories about Alex being connected to Hoody for now Razz

I think that if it were a wave it would have been a bit more pronounced, so that we would notice it, considering I didn't even see it until it was mentioned.

Right, I didn't notice it the first time either. I was actually reading someone's theory in this thread on an early page, lol.

Admittedly I caught it on first watch, same as the fact that Alex is wearing a chest cam. I thought that it was from the moment he started to get out the car.

I knew he had the chest cam because of the fisheye lens.

Just checked the wikidot page for Marble Hornets and this entry, and it mentions the possible hoody in Alex's car, but not the possible wave. I know its no more speculation than this forum is, but still..

I'm not sure that the "hoody" in Alex's car is actually a hoody. But in this series I'm not really sure of anything.

What I'd like to know is *why* Hoody was so sure that he had time to dawdle. Obviously something was still happening to Jay fifteen minutes after his initial encounter. Obviously if he'd come back straight after then Hoody would have taped his car driving off with Alex (if he got back in time) and found another way to hand the camera to Jay. But shit, what if Jay had come back earlier and found Hoody getting out of his car with Alex as back up?

Hoody either had to be certain Jay would be gone for a while or planing to do something along the lines of no entry except using Jay's camera instead of his account and get some nice water footage for the vid. Then he saw that Jay still wasn't back yet and thought that this would be even creepier
(which it was).

I fully agree with this. While Jay may think he was "running around lost" until he got out of the woods, I think there may have been an up close Selndy encounter that was immediately wiped from his memory. His mind clicks on still in panic mode, and he resumes running, not knowing the difference.

This timeline could be the sorted out version, but in my opinion is not. It doesn't account for Hoody taking so dang long to pick up the camera. I find it doubtful that Slendy is hanging around(seems more likely he'd be chasing Jay instead of looming over a camera. "Oh, this shot will be PERFECT, darling!"). Seems logical to go and grab the camera quick. The longer you wait, the more chance of Slendy coming back. Also, Hoody/TTA(assuming they are one and the same) seems way too obsessed to be following 15 minutes behind Jay.

I guess I'm just trying to further my opinion that the distortion the operator causes can bend time on cameras as well.

Edit to reply to another post:

The scene in 41 where he's at the trail head and looking over at the parking lot to make sure nobody's there, before running across to the car makes it seem pretty plain that Hoody -didn't- know he'd get there first. Or he may have just seen Jay run in the wrong direction from the Operator and hence knew he had a decent head start at least.

I'm not going to jump any conclusions either, since... you know, no one knows except for Troy... but I think it's a serious jump to think the beige thing in his car was placed there to implicate Alex in anyway.

Kind of a stretch if you ask me.

It could be a red herring to throw people off track. And if so, it would be working.

Perhaps he was waiting to see if Jay came back for the camera.

I second the thought that Alex was adjusting his glasses. We've seen the humans in the series do mundane things before, after all.
