Ok, so when Jay is sitting at the tree, Alex approaches from Jay's Left, stands in front of him, and talks to him a bit.

Alex: "What was that all about? What are you running from?"
Jay: "That thing."
Alex: "That thing is in there?"

Alex then points behind Jay at the woods, rather than the direction he just came from.

So... did Alex just randomly walk over to Jay's left for no reason before approaching him? It seems like they both would have exited the woods from where Alex was coming from... but then why would Alex point in a completely different direction?

I'm at a loss for an explanation that doesn't involve Alex inherently knowing where the Operator is actually located, and instinctively pointing there, rather than where they just came from.

Why wouldn't Alex have known that he films everything? I assume that since Alex knew to send jay the tape in 26, he had seen the account at some point, thereby knowing that Jay was filming everything. It's nothing incredible. Besides, they had already seen each other at by this point, and Jay had the camera when Masky had his leg broken, so....

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet but...

Most of what I've read sounds like some people think that the hotel they are going to is the one with Jessica. But didn't Jay check down at the front office and learn his room when he woke up was only booked for ONE night? This can't possibly be the same hotel unless...

Jessica = Alex. O.O

It all makes sense! Alex turned into a female, thus why she recognizes Jay's name!

...In all seriousness, I think they would jump from hotel to hotel in the next few months or what not, on their journey to hunt for Amy.

The hotel Jay winds up at is after the Big Confrontation, in my mind. Where Alex is captured/lost/killed... though I'm unsure where Jessica fits into this as of yet.

Or it very well could indeed be the same hotel and Alex is the one who books the room for however much time is needed. Wink

Alex is gone, Jay books his own room, wakes up with amnesia.

1. This is still the most recent main "episode", so I'm just making sure its thread doesn't get buried under stuff like "are these two different people the same person?".

2. Can someone bring me up to speed on how far into the seven months this is?

Well, we know that Jay went to the return address of the package he got at the end of season 1. Since he said he was going to find Alex, I'm assuming he went to the burned-out building rather quickly, I'd say no more than a week after he got the package. Then an indeterminate amount of time later, Jay and Alex revisit and have their encounter with Tim. The rest of the entries have taken place the following day or two, with the exception of Entry 38, which doesn't really fit in just yet.

We don't know how long it was until Jay and Alex teamed up, but since Alex is confirmed to be the one who sent him the tape, and he's seeking Jay's help, I'd say their fight with Tim wasn't too far ahead in the timeline, but it's hard to say for sure. The mentions of a hotel seem to be linking the flashback tapes with Jay in present time, but we haven't had too much time pass in the tapes to account for this. And there's still the matter of what Jessica's role in the story is.

I don't think we'll be able to put together a coherent timeline until the next few entries start coming out.

we're no more than two weeks into the 7 months at this point. i still don't see how they're going to fill up 6.5 months in 10 or so entries, unless this season will be longer
