iBidoof here - I think the other recruiters are posting that since they don't know what else to say...nobody wants to step on any toes.

I thought that it was a hacking attempt by D13, but now I'm not sure. I think it would be gone from now if that were the case. It's probably a warning of sorts...

Just realized that the weird spacing between punctuation is happening where the line breaks are in the text. For example:

"True" text from http://www.thelatinlibrary.com/juvenal/10.shtml with line numbers:

79 imperium, fasces, legiones, omnia, nunc se
80 continet atque duas tantum res anxius optat,
81 panem et circenses. 'perituros audio multos.'
82 'nil dubium, magna est fornacula.' 'pallidulus mi

The same lines of latin text (well, approximately, since the lines are broken up differently) on thecapitol.pn:

legiones, omnia, nunc se continet atque duas tantum res
anxius optat,  panem et circenses. 'perituros audio multos.' 
'nil dubium, magna est fornacula.' 'pallidulus mi Bruttidius

You can see the points where the words are squished together in the capitol.pn text match up with the points of line break on the latin library text.

In any case, still no clue as to WHY the lines are broken up that way. Sigh! Will keep thinking.

@iBidoof: Agreed, it seems like some sort of warning. Didn't the panem government tweet some sort of warning about not learning from the past or something like that?

I've been looking around for translations of the Latin text (Satire X, by Juvenal). Apparently it's the original source of the phrase "panem et circenses" (bread and circuses). So that makes sense.

Go to www.thecapitol.pn and make your DIP (district identification pass i think) It will ask you to upload a pic so have one ready.
After you make it you can share it on facebook,twitter, gmail, etc, and there will be a link to the District2 Facebook page:

I have no idea what the game is going to be like, it's just beginning! Smile

But I doubt it will be just facebook based. Theres also a lot going on on Twitter too right now. I think they are just using social media to get people connected into the game. I've only done a couple other args, but the Star Trek arg a few years back used facebook, twitter, news sites, and many more ways/sites to interact. I think part of it is that it is supposed to pretend to be reality so its an easy way to interact with the game.
Im sure there's someone wich much more arg knowledge who can better speculate about it though.

I just got into district 5. I wonder if they are tiering their entry system. This way as people get their passes and promote the site, there will still be room for the people that they subconsciously recruit .. makes sense.

As for the badges and the game.. is there anything going on with these?
I wonder if we will actually participate in the drawing for the hunger games, or if this is just promo stuff and will end with badges. I would love to jump in (and not actually die of course) or chip in to give presents to our tribute.

And just so I am clear... ThecapitolpN is the official Lionsgate Viral/ARG
While Panem October is a fan made ARG that has nothing officially affiliated with thecapitolPN
