WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE MOVIE?

My favorite part was
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the bus scene. seeing the alien tip over the bus and brutally kill all of the officers was so badass, also, this was the first time we really get to see the monster in all of its glory. after he kills all of the soldiers, he just crawls into the woods. AWESOME. The alien sort of looked like Abomination from the Incredible Hulk movie mixed with cloverfield + 2 more arms.

Yeah...and Nelec, he is the truly evil one.

Hey Nelec...what goes around comes around!

My favorite part...high on the list was the train crash!

I wish the movie was longer. I wanted to see more.

1 hour and 52 minutes of super 8 was great! Loved it!

My favorite part was at the end when locket was pulled away and he grabs it, the it opens and you see the picture and he let's it go. I thought it was so beautiful how it was shot, so emotional. The movie really made me feel like I used to when I watched movies,it was so mint! Very Happy Very Happy

I'm about to watch it again, but I'm a sci-fi nut so overall it was great. I don't think it will hold up to anything like "Close Encounters".

I did feel a little dissappointed at some ponits:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1) No one survives a head on crash into a moving train with what seemed to be a hundred cars long. ( I gave them the benefit of the doubt when they showed the doctor's truck was only wrecked on the passenger side) Still Iffy tho.

2) In that maelstrom of train cars, fire, explosions and assorted crap flying around, the girl's cherry Skylark wasn't even touched.

3) I thought there was just a little too much of the "kids drama". I gladly would have opted for 15 more minutes of CGI alien, human dismembering, and Interstellar spacecraft.

4) How exactly did the alien get the engine blocks out of the cars without leaving a mark. Even the used car salesman had to reach under the hood for the release latch. Again I gave them the benefit of the doubt and said, "Well maybe it has crazy telepathic abilities"

You know what they say, If it doesn't make sense...."A wizard did it"

What did you all think of it?

I have to say I was kind of stunned too at those points in the movie, although the alien did have some sort of telepathic abilities...

My favorite Part was the credit movie surprisingly, that just made the movie for me, although disappointed they used a fake crash instead of seeing the real one one more time (: Also where is Rocket Poppetters?!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Wow, I completely missed this. I thought it was just the kid talking to the alien , and the alien kinda just "understanding" what he was tryin' to say.

I know they said the alien "bonded" when he touched someone, now it fits together a bit better.

Maybe you guys can explain, I was confused when they show the file footage of the doctor and the scientists. Was it the alien trying to reconstitute the ship and then it fell back into cubes, or was it the scientists trying to make it work and they failed, so it fell back to cubes?

Some of my favs

I loved the movie..I took it all in..smiled, laughed and yes had some tears. Although my memorable scenes maybe seem mild.. to me they speak worlds

Got you now motherf**** the laugh

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The first connect you get to "cooper" is it? I love the scene with Nelec in the bus.. not the obvious ass ripping hes going to get.. but the pause with the little smile and chuckle of satisfaction cooper gave him before the sweet release of "look at my face bitch..Im the one who did this to you"

Your not a gun Iron giant..your not a gun..

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The other scene which I see alot of people think silly looking.. its the moment when cooper picks up Joe and is looking frantic and spider monster like... when they make a connection. Joe makes cooper understand "we are not all Nelec" He opens his protective lense cover..very vulnerable.. and human blue eyes pop out. He calms and even though has been abused ...that flash of more humanity than he was shown, is still there.

Anywayyyyssss call me a sap.. but it makes me think of my actions more Wink

Cubes ship

Frost..

Lets think of the cubes as magnetic shape memory alloys or utilizing magnetization saturation.

So you bond magnets together by charging them with the same signal.

Bombard them with different signal and they disrupt.. but if you utilize the same magnetic signal on them.. they form the bonded memory.

I think ..anyways..

Reminds me of frigid flux magnets that you can make with liquid nitrogen and a powerful neodymium iron boron magnet.

Yep, I totally get that part of it, but I was wondering more about the B&W footage you see of the doctors.

They're watching a structure( I'm assuming the alien's ship) then it kinda lets go and crumbles into the cubes, Was it the alien trying to re-assemble his ship, or were the doctors in the footage trying to re-assemble it?

well the scientists could have been trying to disassemble the cubes ya know?

I am not 100% sure.. but my take is they were recreating some of the magnetic tests that made the ship drop from orbit. To get a reaction. Just poking at it with a stick from what I see, not trying to use the duct tape.

So they use ARGUS to trap it/ shut it down.. it falls into water maybe breaks into a few sections. they take the sections and cockpit back.

It seems as if the creature was in hibernation upon recovery and they decided to test the ship and try to get a reaction from it by bombarding it with magnetic waves.(like argus)

Then we go into the whole its connected to the biological cube thing...so Cooper is connected to the cubes.. they start testing cubes and cooper starts to wake up.

Thats my guess hon.. anyone can correct me if they want,

Jane
