[UPDATE] Beth Metadex Update [Nov 18]

Couldn't seem to find if anyone already posted this reply from Marcus in Beth's Metadex..

Subject: the situation

Elizabeth,

As your boss, I have always admired your determination. As your friend, it has troubled me on a number of occasions. There are many things in this world that are not meant to be understood, many questions that are meant to remain unanswered. While knowledge is important, ignorance, as we?ve all been told, is bliss. I would be surprised if you would agree with that. Your drive to understand the world around you does not allow you to accept ignorance; it never has and I do not believe that it ever will. That said, you were correct with your assessment of the situation. It is not meant to be discussed and certainly not discussed in email. It is best that we resolve the situation before I leave tomorrow. Is there a place that we can meet privately? I will be in touch.

Marcus

Where is Beth presently?

Ignorance is bliss, eh? Another Matrix reference. Obviously, Marcus knows much more than Beth and wants her to stop her research.

he sounds like cypher! i knew we'd hear from him to bad it wasn't scratch though
he says she was right in her assumption, then says that she shouldnt talk about it. i think the communication with her will come to a minimum. and not in email so i dont think to much will be said between them
but maybe in a reply to phillip!

I see what you're saying. I thought you meant that we heard from Cypher... And I was like "Cypher? Confused "...

There's definitely a lot that MLO knows that he's not telling Beth. And I don't think he's going to either. I'm starting to think that Beth is either a program, or she's going to be in some serious trouble real soon.

I think the trouble part is right on as well. And soon.

possible plotline?

Metacortechs is looking for betatesters for metavrx
pple who volunteer to test vrx agree to have their memory erased and live in a vr world
so among others beth , dina, ethan, could be betatesters
everything/everybody around them is vr
something goes wrong
pple go in/out of vr/reality
GC has to clean up
Beth finds out
MLO is p*ssed off.

2cts or less

Volunteers agree to have their memory erased? Confused
Does that really sound plausible to you?

The people go in/out of vrx..
This confuses me.. I dont see how that would work..

and if we ignore that point.
If they are all indeed inside the metavrx wouldn't that mean we are in it too if we can see there web pages? and if so, why would the metacortechs site not say metavrx is ready and functional instead of asking for beta testers if we are all inside it?

I like the idea though :) All I need is a plug for the plothole..

He should have said "displaced temporarily" I'm sure that's what he "meant" and he just didn't know it.

Even so, why would you need your memory "erased" or "displaced" to beta test the game??

Unless of course we are talking about a monkey with an opium problem?? j/k Laughing

Kind of like 'Abre los ojos' ('Open Your Eyes'); for all you who haven't seen it, it's a brilliant film (do not go see the Tom Cruise remake, Vanilla Sky!)
