That is what it looks like with just the high-pass filter. See the weird glow? It looks like the picture is made of different parts.

Also that white cloud... I don't know what do make of that. Definitely remnant of editing.

What I did was run a high pass filter on the image until I could see the white "cloud" over her hair on the left side of the frame. Next, I made a contrast adjustment and set the contrast to 43. Then I just did levels and Exposure until it looked like that.

Two things I found interesting:

1. It looks like all the parts of her face are constructed from different photos. You see how the glow outlines her hair after the high pass filter? And the same on her face? There is an outline...

2. When I was done, her face looked like it was a young woman, not a little girl.

I can see what you're saying. . Perhaps it may actually be more than just two pictures? That's a nice theory you got there. . .

The only problem that I have with this thing, is that usually when contrasting and filtering, it can take the childish features out of one's face, and make it look more "mature." You can also reverse this, and make it look more childish with other filters. I've learned this because that's what a lot of Japanese models do, whether it's in reverse or not.

Other than that, I think you've got a pretty interesting theory. .

If you view the page source on the home page of the 8-3-11.info page, you will see 2 .png files.
The first is called "Alberta.png", the second one is titled "Belle%20M..png". Since it is the same picture, the names had to have some similar relevance. I looked into it, and I found this...

I think what's best for us now, is for use to keep asking questions on formspring. We've hit sort of a "block," and this might get us a little further. Everyone come up with questions, because even a simple question could mean a lot to our goal of figuring this out. Everyone think everything through very carefully.
