This thread has died a serious death. I've been lurking and I've posted a few times since this whole thing started. I've read every page. every post as well as all the questions on formspring. It's obvious from reading the past, oh, i dunno TWENTY freaking pages or so that most of the initial interest is gone.

Most of the original group of posters trying to figure out 8𠖥1 haven't been around this thread in quite awhile. That tells you something in and of itself.

The last few pages have been nothing but grasping at straws and theories that have already been posted. It's time to accept the fact that if you haven't figured it out by now, you're not going to. You're all trying WAY too hard.

There are people that figured this out since day one. They e-mailed their guesses in and that was that. Look at how quickly the application acceptance window closed. Do you see what I'm saying? People figured this thing out without doing any of the time wasting stuff you guys are.

It's time to give it up. That's why I quoted the above post. The retards are gonna start flowing in like rats to garbage.

Again. If you haven't figured it out by now, you're not going to. It's time to just sit back and wait until 8𠖥1.

Or maybe do what I've been doing. Submit more questions to formspring. Anything and everything you can think of. The more abstract the better.

This thread has become a dead end.

 		I agree, anything that has been talked about in the last 20 or so pages have all been covered... We're looping back around to the picture of Belle that has already been confirmed to at least contain 2 different pictures by many of us with moderate to advanced Photoshop (and paintshop I suppose :p) knowledge.

It's done, there is nothing left to do then to wait 2 more weeks until the 3rd.


Here's a theory though, what if this has something to do with the debt ceiling that needs to be raised by the 2nd of August or else the apocalypse happens on the 3rd?

hello everybody,


some have argued that the dummy is representing a victim of stoning, and the message would be: it's impossible to cast the stone, as we are all sinners. which sounds good, but...

what if the goal is to actually bring the dummy down? the dummy is not a victim. the dummy is very much in control, and it is protected by the wire mechanism.

if one person decides to throw a stone at the dummy, it will dodge to one side. the stone will miss it's target and perhaps even hit the person on the other side!

however, if 2 persons throw a stone at the same time and with the same speed, the dummy will stay balanced in the middle. therefore the message could be: cooperate!

i don't think we need to feel sorry for the dummy, because it's not a real person. it is a puppet. it's mouth is a radio of some kind, broadcasting messages. perhaps the goal is to silence the puppet.

to stop these messages from being broadcasted, people have to work together. one person cannot do it alone.

more clues:

in the View7ProgressSTC.png picture, there's 2 objects in the ground that look like traps to me: landmines ore something. these devices may be another protection system, to avoid people getting close to the puppet. this could indicate that the puppet is not a human victim of cruel stoning, but a (broadcasting) device, protecting itself. it's more like an invincible dictator Smile

if the puppet is a symbol of dictatorship, then belle's story may be about oppression, and how to overcome it (through cooperation)

If you would have read through these posts, you would have actually seen a link to a Washington Post article about the man who is responsible for publishing these works.

Like most of the people who started in on this thread before this week of nothing, I am simply waiting for August 3rd to reveal whatever is supposed to be revealed.
I keep checking periodically to see if any new substantive information has been included, but taking this long to do so is a bit of bad form on the part of the makers, if they wanted to keep our interest throughout...

I agree completely. I found this very interesting in the beginning but I have to say that it has, in my opinion, flamed out. Too many clues and not enough clues at the same time, if that makes any sense. I do find the formspring answers interesting and entertaining, but I can't shake the feeling that the next time this team tries to build one of these games they'll be able to draw on these experiences and do a better job.

(Not that I think I could have built a better ARG than they did. It seems very hard to dance on the line between obviousness and intrigue for too long. But I think the 8 3 11 project has tried so hard to be intriguing that it ended up being completely impossible to figure out.)

(I also don't think there's a single volunteer who was actually accepted, or a single person who figured everything out in the beginning, as some have mentioned--in the beginning, there wasn't even anything to figure out in the first place.)
