Has anyone gotten the actual invite to start playing yet?

That won't be coming for quite some time. At the soonest, after the last magical quill event ends, and at the latest by September 30th (D:).

I assume they'll roughly go in order of days or how fast they were filled out each day (so the first, say, 100 of each day or something like that) if they don't do them all at once. There's also the potential that even if you activated your account, you may not get in. It looks like they want a significant amount of beta testers in each language, and the event might be rigged to accept a few more people than it needs. Maybe it will end up being a surefire thing as long as you managed to activate it, but there's still enough uncertainty that makes me a little antsy.

Probably worth noting day 4's won't start till at least 2pm bst-6pm bst. so if you are awake trying to get it, you just may want to go back to sleep for the next 5&1/2 hrs.

Spoilers...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
quill.pottermore.com/112 leads you to Sony's website, which is getting hammered. Not sure what I'm even looking for here. Sad

Update: My page timed out, so I went back to the quill.pottermore.com/112 page and it said I was in. Odd, but I'm not complaining.

Yeah the page jacked up under pressure and didn't display the quill for everyone, so they just had it redirect to the site. It wasn't up for long at all. Because of this it seems they aren't even giving a time frame for day 5 as of yet. I'm guessing this means they want to release during a US Friendly time again tomorrow, though they could always throw people for a loop and release it early in the morning.

According to twitter (so not exactly reliable) it could be any time between 11 and 3pm GMT. I'm not sitting looking at the page for 4 hours. This is the first morning i didn't forget to check the page too.

[edit]
Apparently, in case anyone here is interested, the clue wont be released until between 4:30 and 8pm BST. A whole morning spent staring at one site for nothing, great.

If the trend is anything to rely on, 10:30AM CST (in an hour or so) is when we should expect the clue to be posted.

Granted I'm getting the trend info from Wikipedia, since I haven't been following this really at all. And suddenly I'm determined. I won't let all these kids beat me to something I've been a part of since they were in diapers!

http://quill.pottermore.com/252

Leads you to http://harrypotter.scholastic.com/ players had to look carefully at the AD section located at the top of the page. The Quill was hiding there.

Edit: For time purposes. It was 10:18am in California and 6:18pm in England when the clue went live.

Heh...probably shouldn't have pulled an all-nighter on Mass Effect 2. I slept through the noon release. Ah well.

Edit: A bizarre visitor to my house this morning woke me up, and a text message from a friend alerted me at about 8:40AM that the clue for today was available. It went live at 2pm BST.

Day 6 Clue wrote:
How many chapters are there in HARRY POTTER and the Half-Blood Prince?
Multiply this number by 14.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The sixth book in the series has 30 chapters. 30 x 14 = 420
http://quill.pottermore.com/420 leads to http://www.universalorlando.com/harrypotter/. The quill can be found after the intro sequence, on a map of the Islands of Adventure Harry Potter themed area.

Just wanted to give an update on this, I registered with the quill on the first day. Received an email from pottermore today telling me my account will be fully activated for the site sometime between mid-August and the end of September. So I'm assuming people will begin receiving actual access in about 5-6 days.

Someone posted on a harry potter related forum saying their father (who is an avid Sony customer) received an email stating the date August 17th is when beta will open.
