For the "being kicked out by roommates" Jessica comment--

I think that was a half-truth, maybe?
Jessica wakes up in a strange hotel, her only memories starting back from when she was roommates with Alex and Amy. When confronted by Jay, she comes up with a half-truth she can fall back on.

OK, two quick things:

1) why did Alex succumb to Slendy sickness so hard and Jay didn't? Similar distances, similar surprises.

2) right before the initial distortion, did anyone see Slendy with his back turned to Alex when the camera panned right? iPhoning it right now and couldn't tell... Seemed to be on top of or on the other side of the log/clump of crap.

No, only the one. She actually became very irritated with Jay, who kept changing his story.

Also, what she actually said was 'Oh, I got kicked out...' and when Jay asks 'Why?' she replies that she doesn't really want to talk about it. Going off of the fact that we eventually learn that she, too, has no idea how she ended up in the hotel, it's possible that she was making up a story, half-remembering something, or still attempting to rationalize what was happening to herself.

Ok..I skimmed the past 3 pages really quick and didn't see this mentioned but remember when Jessica was grilling J about why he was there in the hotel and he then asks HER why SHE'S there? And she says that she got kicked out by her ROOMMATES???And we just found out who her ROOMMATES WERE??
FOLLOW??? Shocked

Well she said she had no idea how she had ended up there...

Hmmm..I remember her saying that part (about not remembering) but I was so SURE that I remembered her saying that she had a bad roommate situation and she was asked to leave or something to that effect.
After rewatching the entries with Jessica in them--turns out I was mistaken and that makes me feel odd in a way because it changes my perception of the whole Jessica scenario....

Maybe the Operator has two "modes". Attack mode and stalking mode. He looks different in this entry, because he could have been trying to kill Alex. In Entry #41 (I think) when Jay has the close encounter, he's in stalking mode.

I'm not sure if it looks like it to anyone else, but the Operator's arms seem longer in this Entry. This could mean that he is indeed in attacking mode. Long arms could help prevent people from escaping. And the sickness inducing would help as well.

It seemed to me that Alex was stumbling toward the Operator of his own accord while the Operator's influence was repulsing him.

Also, Alex doesn't seem like a bad guy: he's just skeptical. He doesn't want to tell Jay anything because Jay's been known to be a moron and, as someone else noted, stalked by several people.

My mistake. I guess I just took her flustered still attempting to rationalize what had happened as multiple stories in my memory.

1.) Maybe because the Operator was intentionally taking over Alex? And that's what happens when he does?

2.) After looking at it again, it didn't seem like it. He looked face-forward to me.

I'd like to throw it out there that it seemed like The Operator was waiting. Other times The Operator has shown up out of the blue the film rip occurs(which seemingly means teleportation since Masky caused a film rip when he suddenly showed up in the hotel room)...this time he was just standing there which makes me think Alex went to meet The Operator...

Hey I just realized something.

So we know that Slendy found Alex and his lass and that Alex woke up and she was gone. We know that he and Jay are meeting up and trying to find out where she went, and we know that Alex knew about Masky and that's why he took him out.

Now, the major plot point that I just thought of during this video.

Alex goes into a forest, and encounter's Slenderman. But there are a few things that caught my eye during the video. First of all he seems to be waiting, anxiously outside the woods, as if he's debating going inside. Then once he decides to go he goes to one specific location in the woods through an opening in the thick brush.

Now it get's even more interesting. He seems to slow down and then stop, looking back and forth as if searching. Then once he encounter's Slendy he goes into a coughing fit and collapses immediately. Shortly after that he get's up and move's slowly at Slendy.

He's working for Slendy. That much is a given.

However, he's not doing it of his own volition. He's doing things for him because he has his girlfriend. Or at least, want's Alex to believe that.

His reluctance is due to the fact that he doesn't want to meet with Slendy?

He knows exactly how to get into the Forest.

He waits there for Slendy.

The massive coughing fit that strikes is a known sign of constant exposure to Slendy.

These point to the fact that Alex is in fact working for Slenderman. But not willingly, or at the very least, doing so only because he has something over him.

Alex removed Masky so that Jay would stop worrying about him sneaking on the two of them. Alex has replaced Masky, if just Temporarily.

This may not be relevant but a a couple of TTA videos stood out in my memory after watching this entry and reading the comments here;
Program http://youtu.be/46GwQd-X38g
and
Impurity http://youtu.be/zxPDaFeUzT0

and of course the Entries they correspond to. Look at the video icon for Program Cool

One big thing to me that it seems people have failed to mention so far: Did anyone else think that Alex's arms looked longer, and when he stood up again, it seemed to be from a higher eye line. It appears to be a simple but well utilized fisheye effect. It's already been speculated that there are multiple slendys. Did anyone else notice this?

The problem with this assumption is that we really /don't/ know what the coughing fits mean and we have yet to see any evidence that The Operator is able to immediately effect control over an individual. It most likely is an effect of The Operator's influence, but as for the intentions, if there are any, behind that influence, we have no idea.

Although it is relevant to point out that the only other time we've seen someone fall down from a coughing fit, it was Jay in Brian's House, and we've also seen both Alex and Jay come this close to The Operator before without being overtly effected. In both cases, the guys simply took off.

So, the real question is, what exactly about this encounter between Alex and The Operator was different? It might have simply been that this time Alex chose not to run away.

I dunno, it is arguably possible that Alex was treking toward The Operator to attack him ala Evan from EMH, but... and I hate to have to say this, it really looks like Alex is as susceptible to the Operator as Jay was back in the day. (And probably still is?)

It answered one of my major questions about that time period: LulwhoJessica? but not the other: Lul, whoentry29blood?

Jay totally just got possessed at the end there. I think we just saw what happens immediately after one of those "blackouts". It also explains what Alex doesn't want him to know where he lives. [edit] oh that was Alex with the camera. Okay then.

OH and did anyone else catch that SUPER-subtle visual tearing right before The Operator appears? It's like two-frames long.
