I still don't actually understand Amy's significance other than that her and Alex apparently dated at some point after Marble Hornets was filmed and Slendy stuff went down and now she's missing.

I think when Alex left he did everything he could to restart his life and be "normal" again, and forget movies and Slendy, and everything else that took him to the point where he was before J convinced him to hand over the tapes. He probably figured the tapes were the thing -- and that by giving them to J he'd passed on the "curse". So he got himself a job, a laptop, a girlfriend and whatever else it took to move on. And just when he got comfortable a mysterious camera appears...

I know people think the camera was Alex's. But WHY would he keep a camera when all they brought him was Slendypain? Amy says she found it in a closet. Is it possible that TTA, Timasky, or someone else planted it? Alex seems so adamant about the camera and so surprised to even see it that I always wondered if someone hadn't put it there to draw him back into the mess HE started to finish it. (Because TTA is so adamant that J has accomplished nothing of merit.)

I actually kind of like this theory. I always felt that the way Alex reacts to the camera is kind of odd. (I believe even Amy mentions 'You're acting really weird.') It was obvious he was trying to restrain some sort of reaction, perhaps confusion at the appearance of the camera, but didn't want to make it seem like a big deal - either because he wanted to continue not thinking about The Operator, or because he wanted to keep Amy from becoming overly interested in where the camera came from and what was on it.

But how would TTAJ have videos of TiMasky?

...You've got me there.

Wait, what video(s) are you referring to?

I'm kinda just recently getting back into MH, so the details of older videos are a bit fuzzy.

Everyone seems to think that this video proves that Alex is a slenderminion. He might be, but I have some other theories.

1.) Alex doesn't want to tell Jay where he lives. While this could be because Alex is a minion and needs to be able to hide from Jay, it could just as easily be the opposite: Alex suspects (or knows) that Jay is a (probably part-time unwitting) minion and doesn't want Jay to be able to find him while he's under Slendy's control. This is supported largely by the huge gaps in Jay's memory: These could easily represent times he's been under Slendy's control. This doesn't mean that Alex wasn't (or isn't now) under Slendy's control.

2.) Alex seemed to know where he was going. I think he did know, or at least he had some idea and was intentionally trying to find the Slender Man. I don't think it's because he's a minion. Through the video, Alex is somber and frankly, I think he's getting to the end of his rope. I think in his desperation he decided it was time to confront Slendy.

3.) Slendy doesn't attack Alex directly/Alex gets up and walks towards Slendy. I have no explanation for Slendy not physically attacking Alex other than that he didn't need to. It seems that everyone thinks that when Alex got up and walked towards Slendy, it was slow and deliberate, "zombielike". I attribute the pace and deliberate movement to Alex's need to will himself to keep moving towards Slendy in the face of his apparent psychological/physiological attack.

Just my $.02.

Nice first post.

Welcome to the thread.

Sorry about the state of it. Rolling Eyes

What if Alex might actually have a good intention and doesnt tell Jay because he doesnt want Jay to get hurt looking for him or searching?

I think Alex might be a good person after all. I hope so anyway.

Just my $20 Wink

I felt a lack of emotion from his response and that what was weird to Amy...he seemed like he knew exactly what was going to happen and was acting extremely calmly for someone who just had his girlfriend attacked by the Slender Man

Yeah, I always felt like he was trying to downplay what would have otherwise been an "over-reactive" reaction to a simple video camera. (Typically Alex just yells about things when he's unhappy.) Perhaps it's because he was trying to keep his mind clear and keep Slendy at bay. But the whole time I just wanted him to get up and take the camera and smash it to bits, because I got the impression that's what he was restraining himself from doing, because he loves Amy and didn't want her to think her boyfriend was a violent douchebag with some sort of insanity tinfoil-hat reaction to video cameras. Seriously? How do you explain that to your bubbly, busty, hot blonde girlfriend?

You don't. You go to great lengths to keep her happy. Because you're a film school nerd, and you're obviously dating up in the world. Very Happy

EDITED: to further illustrate my point and make fun of poor Alex.

read first 20 pages and got tired of skimming through..but has nobody noticed that you can hear little kids talking as Alex is getting attacked?

I liked this entry...for the most part, it has a very..normal feel. which actually makes it abnormal. Alex and Jay are together from the start, just driving and talking. We get some dialoge about the apartment, the reveal of how Jessica is connected to Alex, And of course the whole time it's just a normal rainy day....which makes me think of that video of TTA filming a bush in the rain (i've always had the feeling that the early tta videos were just him/her filming stuff out his/her window Razz )...and then.............that. i don't even. 0_o

The only thing that bothers me is Alex's phone call. "just calling to see if you've seen Amy recently". It sounds like he's talking about some acquaintance of theirs that they talk to every now and then....not a (mutual?) roommate who's been missing for a month, apparently due to paranormal causes. Confused

Well I should also add that Jay was somehow filming himself in "Exit" and "Addiction".

And TiMasky is in "Warning" and I forget which one said, "We will wait for you no more... control is being taken away from you..."

Cool theory, but sadly there is "proof" against it... :/

I'm not saying that Alex isn't a "good person", but he's been known to be a paranoid nutcase.

Even if I'm wrong and there is now Hollow Jay (though I have no other explanation for his lost time) it's entirely possible that Alex BELIEVES that Jay is under Slendy's influence even if he isn't.

Another thought occurred to me, particularly concerning Jay:

Where the heck does he get the money to stay on the run like this? Gas money, food, hotels... Isn't Jay a student? How can he possibly have this kind of money?

That's the one thing about this that's bugged me from an OOG POV. Other than handwaving explanations (using student loan money/parents are filthy rich/etc) I can't come up with a good explanation.

I didn't notice the children... o.o
*goes back to listen*
edit: Nope, didn't hear any children...

Hah, that does seem odd. Maybe Alex is just trying to keep it cool...? He doesn't want to freak Jessica out because obviously if he's not talking about the episode, Jessica at the moment isn't Slenderstalked (at least to Alex's knowledge).

Well, the exact scene I'm referencing was when Amy first showed him the camera, before The Operator's sudden appearance. I always thought his reaction was very...stiff, sort of like having a poisonous snake suddenly appear in front of you. Inside you might be scared, but externally you don't want to make any sudden movements or give anything away for fear of illiciting an attack.

Also, while we're on the topic, I agree that Alex was (relatively speaking) very calm when confronted with The Operator's sudden appearance in Jessica and Amy's home. I don't think that reaction was out of character for him, though. As we've seen when it comes to his confrontations with The Operator in the past, Alex's reaction has never been to scream and run away but always to go forward and try to confront and understand what was happening. This actually fits in very well with his behaviour in the most recent Entry. Was it stupid and possibly suicidal? Sure. But was it out of character from what we've seen of Alex and the way he deals with The Operator? Not really. And certainly not enough to make me think that he was being controlled by The Operator.

BRIAN, of course. But that Brian and Tim were somehow involved in all of this madness together, to begin with.

Are we twins? Cool
