[OT] Youtube series like MH
Title says it all

There seem to be an awful lot of youtube uploads and series influenced by (if not directly ripping off) Marble Hornets. Some of them are god-awful, but there are a few which are decent.

Whats your favorite Youtube series similar to MH?

Mine would have to be TribeTwelve and MLAnders0n. The recent uploads from both have been pretty fucking sweet.

EverymanHYBRID and TJAProjects are my favorite Slender-series besides Marble Hornets.

A couple other good ones, as you mentioned, would be TribeTwelve and MLAndersen0. I follow those too.

How I'd rank them:

1.) EverymanHYBRID

2.) Marble Hornets

3.) TJAProjects

4.) TribeTwelve

5.) MLAndersen0

Pretty good fan of DarkHarvest00, EverymanHybrid, and MLAnderson0. I watch TribeTwelve as passing interest. Maybe because he's from Florida, and he might do a geocache here...

Have a look around the Slender Man Mythos board here on unforum, there's plenty of series to find, and lots of discussion to be had.

Yeah I was wondering why there was a whole MH board but no other Slenderman series forums.

EverymanHybrid and TribeTwelve seem way to deep for me to follow. Like I never know what's going on when I watch them.
With MarbleHornets you could know nothing past the uploads and still follow it pretty coherently.

TribeTwelve isn't too bad, it has a twitter you'll need to follow along with, but that's it.

EMH is pretty intimidating, but it does have an extremely helpful timeline in the wiki to keep you up to date on the YT account, Damsel's blog, HABIT, the trials, and so on.

My big three is comprised of Marble Hornets, Dark Harvest, MLAndersen and TribeTwelve. (Don't worry, I'll narrow it down eventually.) Other than that I'm keeping an eye on Photofugitive and most of the new vlogs due to trailheads on the Slender Man Mythos subforum.

I agree with you so much. As a Youtube series, MH is great. The story can actually be followed, characters are introduced, and actions are explained. TTA's videos and the twitter add to the series, but aren't required. The single channel is very enjoyable as a standalone, and I think that's what makes it so popular. You don't have to hunt around weird internet forums just to understand how an Entry fits in with the rest of the series.

I'mprobably the only person that doesn't like EveryManHybrid. It started out okay, but it wasn't long before the videos were practically gibberish. Characters started showing up unintroduced, videos were being uploaded that didn't seem to fit at all, and the worst part was when you'd know something big had happened, but they didn't give any hint as to what it was. It's like they expect you to know everything, but they refuse to help you find out. So as a youtube series, I wouldn't recommend it. As a multimedia series, it's probably pretty good. But it's the confusion that keeps it from getting very popular.

Anyways, enough ranting. There are a lot of Slenderman-themed youtube series, but none are quite as good as Marble Hornets. They all have their pros and cons, though. Personally, I'm a fan of the blogs, as opposed to videos.

I can definitely understand people's frustration with EverymanHYBRID. Looking back on the series as a whole, I don't think I would ever seriously recommend someone (who is new to the mytho) to start following them this late in the game. There is just so much information from so many pages and websites that needs to be gathered that it's too intimidating. Anything is possible with enough dedicated time, though.

Anyway, I believe that once you're caught up with EMH, and you understand the way the series works and all that jazz, it's the most interesting Slenderman vlog out there. Personal opinion I guess.

Yeah, EMH isn't that hard to catch up on with the 2010 and '11 timeline, just make sure you got some time on your hands and read everything. I only started watching it in March and I've got the series down.

Definitely EverymanHYBRID TribeTwelve and MarbleHornets are the top 3 in my book. But I also follow MLAnderson0, compileTRUTH, and DarkHarvest00.

Also, I find it interesting that people making youtube channels that are for documenting Supernatural Phenomena seem to not have Space Bars... Strange...

The Hardest Choice has spaces! Cool

The only other Slender Man series I check in on occasionally is ohgodhesatmywindow. Not so much anymore, because the Ordeals kind of took the funny away. But besides that, it's pretty awesome.
