[SPOILERS] Easter Eggs! Let's post the easter eggs we've found so far! This thread will be spoiler heavy! I'll start with the 2 Slusho signs I saw.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In the gas station the cash register enclosure has a large Slusho sign plastered on one of the sides.
..and..
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In the same gas station, there is a smaller sign hanging in the window by chains. After the gas station is attacked, the sign is crooked and only hanging by one of the two chains.

Nice must have missed it. Is Leonard Nimoy really in it? Didn't see him at all.
I saw Joe wearing the Captain Coop t-shirt but overlooked the poster in his room.

When JJ made the Nimoy comment, I believe he was being facetious. There is a Star Trek bridge cast photo hanging on Charles' wall. (Or maybe it was Joe's.)
And if the title of the thread has SPOILERS in bold letters, isn't it a bit redundant to use spoiler tags?

I think it would be interesting to compare rumoured easter eggs and what we've spotted and where. I'm not sure if there are articles compiling that info yet (lots of mentions here and there of something that is/might be in it, via interviews and whatnot though). I haven't googled much to see if such a list exists.
My first watching, I didn't see anything that stood out, and I was watching (though admitted got lost in the film too often, and obviously missed a lot )
Next viewing, I'll definitely be watching more (hopefully armed with more knowledge!)

I wouldn't call them easter eggs, but I did like the fact that we had clear and distinct tie-ins from the ARG in the movie. The one thing that's disappointed me so far is no spotting of our RP brand.

You mean outside of the poster on Charles' wall or Joe's Capt. Coop shirt?

Neither of those did I catch, but then I've only seen it once so far. There is a dizzying amount of detail in those kids' rooms, and frankly the performances of the kids kept me from having my attention drawn too closely to their wardrobe.
One thing that puzzled me was that they didn't notice the cube Joe has, has changed shape.

Heheh... yeah, I actually had the shirt one pointed out to me. Caught the RP poster on Charles' wall right away when I saw it on Tuesday night. It's in the first scene in Charles' room when he gives Joe the Super 8 film makers magazine.
And yes, it is odd that they never comment on the cube configuration changing.

don't know if it was meant as a homage to E.T. but in the closing of the movie when all the metal pieces are attached to the water tower but before the craft forms there's a bike with a basket on front like elliot's
but that was probably a common thing back then and i'm reading to much into the spielberg connection

Knowing what we do about JJ and Steve, I don't think ANY part of the set is an accident. They both follow the sort of desire for granular detail Walt Disney espoused in most of his works. (If you've really paid attention at the theme parks from the era of his design, you'll know what I mean.)
Everyone did get the reference with 'Romero Chemical', right?

It was definitely very welcoming to see the bikes, if it wasn't intentional.
