There's a movie coming out called either Oblivion or Horizon starring Tom Cruise that is to be released in July 2013. I can't say for sure but seems like a likely candidate to me based on the time frame and how 42 Entertainment operates their ARGs. Flynn Lives was a 2 year campaign.

Check it out:

Sounds like a cool movie anyway.

Looks like it's by the same director who did Tron Legacy and it's a Disney movie. Huh.

I still think it's just for gum, but what a coincidence. It's apparently based on a comic, maybe I'll check it out.

Whoops, never mind, looks like Disney actually dropped it.

I'm, like, crossing my fingers and toes that this is a cross promotion, and Wrigley's is here right now just to distract us. Although at this point, it could be just gum (or hell, a cross promotion with tampons as was suggested yesterday) and I'd still be fine with it.

My favorite ideas are Assassin's Creed or a totally new video game/movie. To be honest I'd feel a TV show might fall a little short, and financially wouldn't have quite the same potential return as a movie or game would.

I don't want to theorize too much about it, or I'll get my hopes up for something way too awesome to exist. XD

Possible theory: Connection to "Aliens" movies? Came out in 1986.

The Alien series never really had any link with HSP or any kind of training institute, so that's probably not it.

I can't be the first one that thought:

Halo 5 + 5 Gum, the marketing writes itself.

I'm currently leaning towards 42E doing a stand alone ARG that is in no way connected to any movie, game, other intellectual property or product. Just an extremely well produced ARG that advertises nothing and is kinda the true form of an ARG. i.e. minus any direct viral marketing.
My idea is that 5Gum is only a sponsor to offset costs, like when you watch a TV show and see "Parts of this program are sponsored in part by..." Only this program is a traditional ARG and not a TV show or movie (or directly marketing anything).
For me, this is currently the best possible outcome, an ARG simply for the sake of ARGs.

Uhuhuh, this is gonna be an interesting debate!
Personally, I agree with those of you that claim that there are no "facts" linking Halo to this ARG, yet.

However, regarding the themes touched so far, the whole idea of "sensory amplification" makes me think constantly about the SPARTAN augmentation program of the Halo universe.
Adolescents would match totally with this scenario, as they were the subjects of that program. A militaristic academy would also be appropriate.

the only thing is.. that flying icefly container.. what was that!?! Shocked

Looking forward to see what's yet to come! Very Happy

It may be possible to test the new batch of them, I dunno.

I 100% agree! This is an awesome concept, the idea of an ARG for the sake of being a part of an ARG... I'll buy gum to support this idea, I'd buy gum a ton of times to support this idea.

People have done it. Theirs just haven't been as extensive. There are many ARGs out there that were made just for the fun of it and not really meant to sell anything. Though why you'd do that, I don't know, because they can obviously be very lucrative. Just look at all the folks disappointed by the 5 Gum angle who are going hunting for marked packs, just to continue the game.

In any case, I would also like to entertain the idea that this isn't meant to promote anything beyond itself.

This is very very fun. I'm one of those silly dreamers that half wishes it were real. I'd be a great spartan. Very Happy Or participate in creepy brain research, for that matter. Long as it wasn't invasive. Who cares. ARG!
