 FAQ: Helpful Web Links
New? Here are websites to check out.

Since this ARG is starting to gain steam I figure a topic with quick reference to major links minus the entire summary of events would be helpful. Key phrases are highlighted.

*IF YOU ARE COMPLETELY NEW TO THE HUMAN PRESERVATION PROJECT/ICEFLY ARG, REGISTER HERE!*
This above is where you officially register with the Human Preservation Project to be part of this Alternate Reality Game.

Currently Active/Relevant Sites:
*Human Preservation Project - Main portal for the Survival Code/Human Preservation Project Site
  • Test Facility Launch - - Log on to the Test Facility video game. This is where you explore the testing facility, solve puzzles, and collect Log Files, which are a comic book that explains the story.
  • User Profile - Once logged into the Survival Code Site, this is where you can see your profile data, register codes from 5Gum packets to gain Constellation/Facility Keys that allow you to progress in the Test Facility game, view the Keys you already have, as well as view the Log Files and achievements you have collected.

*Official Facebook Page - for the Human Preservation Project Via the 5Gum Facebook Page
*Audiowall and Repel are previews of the main puzzle games in Facility 01 and 03 respectively.

*Traelek Institute Home Page - In-game website. Main website of the school founded by Professor Traelek. This is a cryptic companion to the story presented in the logfiles. Gives us a look at some of the items in the game through hidden links. The following are known links: *Minor Spoilers in Descriptions Ahead*
  • The first set of hidden Traelek links discovered by calling the number on traelekinstitute.com are:
    Spoiler (Rollover to View):
  • DECOY - Shows a ring used in the Facility 02 Logfiles along with a message.
  • ASCENT - Shows precognitive pictures drawn by Bobbi Gnarsea shown in the various story related videos along with a message.
  • MISGUIDED - Shows us a pamphlet for the mysterious Hiltrecht Military Academy. It is strongly implied that Maxine's mother wanted to send her there in Facility 02's Logfiles.
  • BLAMELESS - Shows a newspaper article about a mysterious housefire and the possibility it was caused by a child.

  • A clue in Facility 01's logfiles led to the second set of Traelek links:
    Spoiler (Rollover to View):
  • BioPhysics Monthly - A magazine cover and article that led to the second stream of Traelek sites.
  • LONGING - A letter from Bobbi to Maxine.
  • BENEVOLENCE - A mysterious letter to "Professor" (Traelek?) from an unknown person regarding an envelope resembling the ones handed out at E3 2011 and San Diego Comic Con 2011.
  • CONDUIT - A painting of an Icefly displayed in Professor Traelek's office in Facility 02's Logfiles
  • AFTERMATH - An article about mysterious debris found in Taymyr Peninsula explained by the events in Facility 02's Logfiles.

  • A clue in Facility 02's logfiles led to the third set of Traelek links:
    Spoiler (Rollover to View):
  • Beauford's Bus Bounty - A pamphlet for a budget bus company with an alliterative name.
  • REMINISCE - A sketch of Professor Gerald Traelek by one of his most gifted students. (E?)
  • GIFTED - Medical information for someone named Eddie (assumed to be E from the Logfiles) talking about an anxiety disorder and wanting a second opinion.
  • 672A1229 - A BioPhysics Monthly article on Hypervigilance and HSP.
  • RFCS0 - A test subject profile noting the increased brain activity after testing.

  • The fourth set of Traelek links were discover discovered by a clue in Faclity 03's Log Files:
    Spoiler (Rollover to View):
  • ENIGMA
  • IMPORTANT
  • PYROSENSITIVITY
  • EXPRESSIVE
  • ILY

  • The fifth set of Traelek links were discovered by a clue in the Command Center's Log Files:
    Spoiler (Rollover to View):
  • RECONNAISSANCE
  • ATTENTION
  • ANSWERS
  • UNEXPECTED
  • SUMMERSNOW

  • The sixth set of Traelek links were discovered by clues in Faclity 04's Log Files:
    Spoiler (Rollover to View):
  • SAVEUS
  • ASTONISHING
  • IBC
  • NU
  • PROCLIVITY

*MissionIcefly Youtube Channel - An official Youtube channel with various ARG related videos.

*Mission Icefly Website - Website for the first drop that led us to Survivalcode.com. This site has been inactive for a while but is still worth visiting if you are new because it gives you a cool look at an icefly and interesting footage on its subsequent link, as well as places where drops have already occurred. Has a twitter channel that was used during the event. Was used to alert people of Icefly Hunt 3.0 as well. Very useful for drop days.

*Mission Icefly Flickr - Where people who have gotten Iceflies have sent pictures as well as have them taken.

*5Gum's Youtube Channel - Has the 5Gum commercials. While not directly ARG related, gives insight into the origin of the environments and themes seen in the Test Facilities.

Helpful Unofficial Sites:
*HPP/Icefly Wiki - Unofficial Wiki by Wikibruce. Primary place to contribute and share information about the Human Preservation Project ARG
*IRC Chat - IRC Chat info complete with browser based IRC client. Excellent place to discuss the game in real time.
*Human Preservation Project Facebook Group - An active Facebook community for this ARG.
*Mission Icefly Facebook Group - Another active Facebook community for this ARG.

Solved Puzzles/Outdated Links:
http://survivalcode.com/converge/ - Still operational Visual Evaluation Puzzle that led to the official Facebook and gave the Password that led to the second Icefly drop and a vote for where it went, and subsequently the new facility.
http://survivalcode.com/pages/newchapter - Now redirects to survivalcode login page. Originally hosted the opening date for Facility 02 and logfiles for Facility 02.
http://www.testsubjectsneeded.com/ - Where it all began. The original place to sign up for the ARG. Led to the first mail-out which was the Bonaroo Icefly paper helicopter with a link to Missionicefly.com Now redirects to Survivalcode.com.
http://survivalcode.com/genesis - Led to the countdown to Facility 01 and the first coherent video of Professor Traelek.
http://survivalcode.com/countdown.htm - Now redirects to login. Was a semaphore puzzle at the end of the countdown to Facility 01 that led to the first 20 levels of the music bounce game and subsequently Facility 01.
http://survivalcode.com/reclaimthelight - The solution to countdown that gave us the first 20 levels of music bounce before Facility 01 was originally up. Now redirects to survivalcode.com.

Please feel free to correct any mistakes and remind me of anything I may have missed as well as help me reword to make it more understandable to new people.

  • 08/17/2011 List created and (likely) minor changes made.
  • 08/18/2011 Added the Traelek sites discovered last night and 5Gum's Youtube. Made Traelek links more spoiler friendly.
  • 09/12/2011 New Traelek Links added and description of missionicefly's twitter updated to note that it was used in the recent drop.
  • 11/14/2011 Updating with Traelek links from recent facility and Command Center as well as adding the Audiowall and Repel Preview games from the Facebook Page.
  • 12/09/2011 Updated with Mission Icefly Flickr. Thanks TheBruce for pointing out my oversight.

Very cool! Should be an amazing tool for newcomers (and vets alike!).

My only recommendation is to put the ever-appropriate spoiler warning at the top. Wink

Thank you!

EDIT2: Added a minor spoiler warning to the end of the Traelek Institute Paragraph. That should be that. =) Don't want to scare newcomers from educating themselves by putting a spoiler warning right at the top.

I think you should add http://www.survivalcode.com/pages/audiowall as well. IMO it serves for some kind of introduction for the game, like a demo version - doesn' take much time and still gives you some insight.
