Wow. That mystery symbol looks like nothing I've seen for any of their current flavours. It's true that Lush and Zing are missing from the 10, but that doesn't look like either. A flavour they haven't released yet? And so weird that Flare is blank on the site.

I wish I knew what all of this was for. If buying 10 packs of gum will be worth it. That's money I don't have to spend on chewing gum. -.- I have a feeling there's going to be a trend in the theft of 5 Gum. :P I'd much prefer people did that than unwrap and peek at codes, then leave the gum in the store. Bah.

How many people do you think are active in this ARG? Even if hundreds of us buy 10 packs each, would that cover the expenses of making an ARG like this? I mean the websites and art, videos, effects, celebrity actor... it would take a lot of gum purchasing to make this something profitable, if the whole thing -was- for 5 Gum that is. Just another reason I believe it could be tied to something more. Oh please oh please just speed up time so I can get some answers BEFORE potentially spending 10+ bucks on gum (even if it is delicious delicious 5 Gum).

I literally went out and bought four of them, the poor checkout girl at Wal-Mart either thought I was stoned or crazy, despite my assurances that I wasn't just some crazy gum aficionado.

Also, if you are not sure if you have an 8 or a B, check the character before it, they are in number-letter-number-letter patterns.

I just stopped by the local Target store and blamo they had a whole box of the Vortex gum where every pack had a fly on it. I bought them all and entered the codes into the site. All that happened was each tag lit up. Then after I had all the constellations lit up, i put in one more code and my only choice was to click on the door in the center. When I did my available keys went up to 4. and that was it so far.
Just to confirm:
You do not have to find one of every flavor. All codes I put in were from the green apple flavor.
the date code on my packs is 16feb12

As far as i can tell, nothing has changed on my profile page. no new achievements. Only difference is the constellations are lit up.

when I put in the extra code, the only thing I could click on was the "door" in the middle. So now my profile says I have 4 available keys.

OK, I went to a few places, and found Icefly packs in 2 of those locations, different flavors, I bought one of each plus a couple extra of React^2. I don't have 10, but didn't want to waste time with multiples of the same flavor if it turned out we needed to get one of each (I see that has been proven to not be the case already). So I entered all the codes, I'll have to pick up 2 more packs later to fill out my 10 but the freshness date range is interesting.

Lame sauce. Couldn't find any, but then I did disregard flavors with early expiration dates. On that note I can see why 5 gum is running this. I came across some packs that expired last year! >_>

I'll continue my search tomorrow, but I got a feeling I won't find any till Monday.

Managed to find 9 packs of rain (expiring 08/12/12) at my local Safeway. Searched desperately for 2 more, but drew the line after checking every pack in 10 different stores.
I guess I'll be trying again tomorrow!
