Actually, I think there might a bit more to the motto than that. The words are all nouns, but they are all in different (grammatical) cases. "Honorem" is the accusative case of "honor", "animi" is a genitive, veritas is a nominative. It still doesn't make a lot of sense since there is no verb to connect them or justify the cases.

Are there "correct" answers for the voicemail word association?

This is my first real ARG and it just exploded last night so I'm having trouble keeping track. Embarassed

Put that way the most sensible motto would the "Truths of the Mind make us/are our Honorable/Honor"

I'll keep working on it, school mottos are hard.

The voicemail also encourages people to go back and look at the pages afterwards. I left them some gibberish and my username/number from the Survival Code page, but who knows if anything will come of that?

I honestly think there's more that we need to find with regard to these pages. Why else would they be there? Gotta be a reason.

EDIT: Adding to the discussion: Do we know what "HSP" stands for yet? It's been mentioned in the source in the /ascent/ page, and described vague-a-liciously as "the ability to look at the common housefly and see more." We know this place is all about the five senses, so maybe the redheaded girl has some form of ESP that... for some reason needs an H at the front?

hyper sensory perception? flies do have better senses...i think...

HSP is Heightened Sensory Perception. It's shown in the second comic.

honorim amini veritas

The Latin on the Hiltrecht brochure, Honorim Animi Veritas, means something close to "honor to the mind's truth."

Went ahead and called.

My answers:

decoy : spy
ascent : heaven
blameless : innocent
misguided : child

Also, was I supposed to leave a username? Am I doing this right? Shocked

I must be the one woman out here but I did not take the sample quiz as one that required a response.

The statement "please check back on our website if you have any fresh impulses as a result of the quiz you just sampled."

I think this was simply a start to show the processes of discovery and what to expect from the game.

Now will there be future phone responses? Most likely.

All options are on the table, just my 2 dollars and 91c Wink

Jane

Thanks for the Latin translation. It's funny, you sing in Latin your whole life and never really understand it. Probably because all of the songs you sing in choir are hymns...

I've called the Institute four times now. First two, I didn't wait for the beep. Second time I left my answers, and third time new answers with my username and a WRONG preservation ID! >_<

I can't wait to explore all of this in detail this weekend. Screw fireworks!

You're not alone Jane. Us girls gotta stick together! (Especially if $2.91 is involved. Wink) As for the phone message, if you wait you can leave an e-mail. And apparently you can provide extension codes if you press the asterisk key (*) during the message. I don't think anyone has discovered any working extensions yet.

I just left my username and phone number, and asked them to call me back because I wanted to enroll. I actually didn't occur to me to leave word association answers, although now that I read this it seems like it would be an obvious response.

Something that occured to me: Perhaps someone should call and have 'token' and 'paper' as their answers. It might lead to something?
