Coachella??? Where or how did you find this in Survival Code?

Has anyone finished Coachella? I can't, it freezes and crashes in door 3, but the similarities are interesting Each task seems to focus on a specific sense. In turn, this would make sense if all the 5 commercials focused on HSP, and in a way, they seem to. They make the subject evoke the sense of taste visually. Might this be the Institute?

I don't think we're actually going to find it in this game, it wouldn't make sense to spend the money on something they can send to their 5 million fans for free on facebook (and that does seem to require at least one purchased pack), but wouldn't it be interesting to see a bit more of the TI than we'd need for this game, and toi have been seeing it without realizing it for the past few years? Or is it 2 am and this all just over-thinking these images as a whole?

Let's try to keep the thread on topic please... Perhaps there's enough discussion about the Coachella site to warrant its own thread - help keep that chat to its own area. Feel free to post a new thread, but perhaps tag it with [OOG?] in the subject (we don't yet know if it'll play a role, but right now it's not connected other than standard 5gum visual style)...

Found Something...

On the http://traelekinstitute.com/conduit/ page it just has the painting right? Wrong. It also has this phrase: Discovery can't be painted in broad strokes - it's the fine details that linger in the aftermath. I noticed this when the page lagged some. I hope this helps.

http://traelekinstitute.com/aftermath/ has been known for a while. Currently it seems to be one of two final breadcrumbs for this stage of the game. The other being
http://traelekinstitute.com/benevolence/ (at least I consider benevolence to be a final breadcrumb, I haven't heard of any clue puzzle wise that was gained from it)

For all intents and purposes these two sites simply further the Traelek Institute story line further. If I'm mistaken I will gladly eat more gum.

On a side note, is it just me or do we all seem more scattered theory crafting wise on this arg?

I think what we have was what we were supposed to get so far. If you figure the rush of events there will always be a reflect and anticipation point. The "what comes next" could be phone, email or letter to help lead on.

side note:

The scatter I see if from the rush of new users who seem to disregard the "read a few pages back" or that mystery of a search button on top of the page Wink

Although Bruce has noted the process and etiquette of the board MANY TIMES, I think we know that this is just what will continue since this game seems to have a grander reach.

So far the PM's have been awesomely observant . I do not think they will let us stray to far with out a nudge.

So let me make sure I've got what we know here. I'm doing my best to catch up. I'm so excited that the characters and story are beginning to come together!

Benevolence - that envelope looks identical to the trailhead I received at E3. Is the message attached to it referring to the Human Preservation Project? Are we being pulled into the game as participants in " my our research" - i.e. the Human Preservation Project?

Aftermath - I saw people mention Russia in another thread, and looking up the Taymyr peninsula I see why that is! So, our speculation seems to be that the Icefly landed there and caused the crater, then was picked up by the ice truck driver and presumably brought to Prof. Tralek?

I actually asked that somewhere at some point, and I'm thrilled that someone who actually got that envelope has come forward! As to what this actually means, I'm not sure. That idea that we're being pulled into the game as participants seems sound to me, though, and is the most likely answer, I think. Very Happy

I assumed that the colleague of the professor is a little self centered, or has ulterior motives, and really feels that they are working by themselves. Then changed it to "our" to sound more like a team player.

I think I still have my envelope somewhere if you'd like photographic proof, but yes, it appears to be EXACTLY the same!

If we're right, then this is a deliciously meta breaking of the fourth wall in an in-game sort of way. And I totally approve. Very Happy

There is no fourth wall. That is the point of an ARG. You are a character, so your envelope is a character item.

That said I wish there was more to go off of for being in character. So far we are definitely on the outside looking in.

I don't think it was the Assistant who wrote the note from benevolence; the writing is too messy and/or casual. I think it is a "student' who is doing his/her own research (red haired girl?) due to his/her own abilities, thus my our.

Turn of fortune, and benevolence, does that mean money, like funding? Or support, as in more students/researchers/test subjects -- which would be those who have black envelopes at E3 (or the rest of us here). Like maybe they're saying Here's help in the form of all these others, almost as if they're "noticing" us?
