Protips: requesting creators at your local cons

I'm not sure exactly where to put this, but whatever, deal with it Razz

I noticed on Tim's tumblr (yes, MH Tim) that people were asking for him and the rest of the gang to come to various places for their local cons. This was in light of GMX, because they were recently at that con. I figure, you guys want creators, I'll give you tips on how to request them to come (as guests to the con) so you can do meet and greets.

My suggestion is, if you really want to see a creator at any con, go to the cons forums, there usually is a request a guest thread and go wild, but please, don't go too overboard. Be nice and polite and enlist you friends and anyone who will listen to request anyone you wanna see, not just creators, but VA and actors and what not. You need to be proactive to see them at a con, not just asking them if they can come to your local con.

You can also email the con if they don't have a forum. More than likely, they'll have a forum, but there are some smaller cons out there that don't. Emailing them with a subject like "Guest request" will help immensely if it comes down to it.

To request any of the creators you'd like to see, I'd prob'ly go with requesting by the series' name, a link to said series, contact information (if the creators provides it/is willing to share it with the public), and include the actor/s you'd like to be at the con you wanna go to when you post on the forums or email them.

Just something that I thought I'd share here for any of you con goers that can't see someone but they really wanna see them at a con Razz

Also, if there's a group of creators that you'f like to see and would like them to share a panel (because it might be easier to do so), suggest that, too.

And if you need specific names when you request (because I don't know what the policy is behind nom de plumes or the names people go by for their blogs), please, PM me here or email me (xxchasechan2050xx AT yahoo DOT com) and I'll get in contact with who needs to be contacted and make things happen for you :3

So that'd be helpful if you are going to suggest someone who's popular, it might have a better chance of getting picked.

Also, try and see if the con you are going to request one of the creators at is willing to give them free lodging, airfare (if needed), parking/tolls fees (if needed), and a free con badge. We are poor and we'll need all the help we can get, guys >///>
