Who is your favourite Marble Hornets character?

For me, it's Jay. No, really. He's the decent ordinary good guy you know, who keeps getting up after everything which has happened, where most of us would probably curl in a little ball and do nothing. Yes, he makes mistakes, but given that he's dealing with a supernatural entinty that can be anywhere , creepy guys in masks and a killer, it's more then understandable that paronia would get in the way of him thinking clearly about the various situations he get's in (and now, I have a picture of Jay sneaking away from The Operator in a cardboard box, heh) . He's the everyman, not Sherlock Holmes or Solid Snake, and he's just still learning how to surrive this terrible situation. I still don't understand why people harp on about him posting Tim's medical details, given everything he's dealing with and the fact that he's posting these his videos to reach out to others who can help him, it's more then understandable. I do get the feeling though that Jay is just too innocent and well, noble, to get out of this series alive, though.

Second favourite character? Regular Tim. Just the struggles that he had to go through and that The Operator seems to have screwed his life over and that his time on set of Marble Hornets just seems to be the first time he really connected with a group of people is just so painful to watch. That it all went wrong because of The Operator (and Alex?) is just heart wrenching. It's going to be hard to watch how he turned into the Tim of season one and two since he doesn't seem to be that bad of a guy. (particularly since it seems he voluntary became Masky some of the time to protect Jay and hunt down Alex)

I also really, really like Jessica. I'm not really sure why, because she's one of the least developed characters so far. She does seem to be able to deal with these sorts of situation better then Jay (although she and Jay were in a group in entry #52). While, personally, I think she's dead (and we'll find out her connection to The Operator, if any from another source)

You know, that kickass Masky that charged Jay at Brian's house. That guy was awesome..

 		So, super stealthy Masky tackling Alex didn't impress you at all in entry #52? SERIOUSLY?

And Masky in entry #46 just gives me the chills....

EDIT: Added a poll for everyone's favourite character. Don't know about whole whether Masky is lame now, seems more like an in-forum topic.


I've decided to count season 1-2 Tim and season 3 Tim as two different characters, hope no one minds. Given that season three Tim seems to have no memories of what happened during the filming of Marble Hornets, he's not the same person as the Tim in season one who seems to have his memories of what happened during the filming of Marble Hornets.

FURTHER EDIT: Ugh, sorry guys. Put season one and Tim and Masky in the same box. Going to ask the mods to edit the poll, as it seems that I can't change it. Sorry Sad

 		I can't choose between Jay, Alex or Hoody.

Jay because he's a lovable fuck up. Alex because he used to be so happy and then the whole operator thing happened and he turned evil. Hoody because of his manipulative tendencies.

Weird. I didn't find Masky that creepy or interesting until like entry #35... At first I was like "Oh, they're just adding in another mysterious threatening character to make it more dramatic because they ran out of stuff to do with TO, how lame" but I like the fact that Masky isn't just some random crazy dude, but there's actually motivation and history and that stuff and the (understandable) desire to kill (?) Alex, not just tackle everything in sight.

But if they ever go too far into who/what Masky is, how he works, or give him a well-defined personality, I think I'll be disappointed again. But for the moment I'm pretty pleased with him.

EDIT: That said, I still think my favorite character is Jay. I kind of love how derpy he is. I think a lot of other series (not just internet ones, just in general) make their lead characters too smart, strong, clever, etc... I like how Jay is just kind of a normal guy who makes a lot of mistakes (let's be honest, most people would do pretty badly in his situation as well). All he really has is the camera. And I like how unaggressive he is, unlike every other Slenderseries character ever. Also, though Tim is obviously the best actor in MH, I think Troy is good at conveying how lonely, depressed, guilty, frustrated, tired, etc. Jay can be at times (which IMO can be harder than just acting "angry" or "scared" or even "paranoid")... So.... Yay Jay?

 		It's gotta be Hoody. He's the only one who knows what's going on with all the characters almost all the time. He's almost as omnipotent as The Operator and way more manipulative. I'm a sucker for puppet-master characters.

It's the guy Jay encounters in the first visit to Roswood, I think. He thinks he's chasing him, but he's just listening to music. Don't remember the number of the entry.

 		I voted for TiMasky, but Hoody (whom I think is a part of TTA) is completely acceptable, too.
Hoody is a manipulative genius who knows way more than anybody else. S/He just runs around, pulling strings and leaving tiny clues to make other people do his/her will. To make it even better, s/he seems to know so much about the operator and his minions, but is completely void of his influence. Hoody is kind of the hero, in my mind.
However, TiMasky from seasons 1+2 was a creepy mofo, and that makes him win my respect in this poll.
