The login isn't my problem, that's what LastPass is for. It's:
Username: level2access
Password: rainandsun

I'm just trying to access the actual directory.

thanks! logged in ok for me.... I got 4 files, the buzzersandalerts.txt contact.txt oldwelcome.txt and readme.txt

EDIT: the URL is case sensitive... L2 and l2 are two different directories for it... which is why l2 leads to the placeholder, and L2 heads to the correct directory

Ah, the problem was, I had used a lowercase l the first time, and so Firefox, not thinking of case-sensitivity, saw me type the "same" URL, and sent me there instead. I went around it by typing an additional / at the end.

Nuts. I see nothing that gives a sure-fire idea of how to get to L2. However, the presence of a welcome message suggests to me that, perhaps, we will eventually be given L2 access simply by completing more tasks as they are assigned; like perhaps L1 is simply a buffer for new employees and that L2 is the "standard" basic access.

Only problem is: no one's been given any tasks...
I'll try to push it along by sending a reply to that last email: something along the lines of "Sounds great! How can I help?."

EDIT: Email sent. Although I made the message a bit more wordy to try and get myself pushed towards the "idea-spouting" part of the group, which I would assume would have the highest clearances.

Yes! Seems my ploy worked! It sounds like I've gotten on Althea's good side. She sent a reply and said she'll be getting back in touch with me with more to do.

Hah! Interesting idea! Actually, we plan on moving into further applications of our research once we complete it's current state. And yes, it is quite possible for such applications, which would really be great! Imagine giving people the second chance to live their life to the fullest after being paralized... Simply amazing. Right now, I'm out of the office but I'll make you do some proof-reading once I get back by monday. Or if anything comes up, I'll tell you. With such cerative mind, I'm not surprised you got a referal from the Department Head himself.

If you're curious, my idea was to use the nanites to enhance electrical stimuli from the brain and alleviate paralysis.

Aha! LAINSY retrieved some of the recent logs of James Barron:

RESPONSE: Two log entries found for the past 30 days with his name.
Log entry number: 00000591F0, dated: February 22, 2012, Log Author: James Barron and Joseph Dillinger, Log class: Manual Entry
Log entry number: 0000058EE3, dated: February 15, 2012, Log Author: James Barron and Joseph Dillinger, Log class: Manual Entry

Here's the other entry from LAINSY"

Log entry 0000058EE3

Date of entry: February 15, 2012

Author: James Barron and Joseph Dillinger
Summary: Protein Absorption Improvement
Full Entry: Current sample of the nano-machine solution has improved. There has been an increase in probability of successful protein and nano-machine bonding to allow absorption of the nano-machines in the msucular tissue. Yesterday's test was unsuccessful, however we have seen indications of nano-machine absorption. On an interesting note, it seems the msucular tissue is still able to distinguish the nano-machines apart from the actual proteins. If we could find a way to work around this, maybe bond the protein and nano-machine deeper then we should be able to force the muscles into absorbing the nano-machines along with the proteins. Either that, or the muscles will also start rejecting the proteins bonded with the nano-machines.

Hey all, good news and bad news.
Good news, LAINSY provided Joseph Dillinger's email
joe.dillingerSPLATfailtechnologies.com

Bad news, Joseph did not respond well to my bad cop routine

LAINSY reports Mr. Barron as AWOL and the most likely suspect is you. So tell me Mr. Dillinger, what do you have to gain by removing Barron from the picture? Or did you simply need his ID to access restricted areas? Come clean now Joe before this gets out of hand. If you cooperate in this investigation we can work out a deal. Tell me everything you know about Barron's disappearance and this investigation will not go past me and you will get off easily.

Excuse me? I don't think we know each other. I do not answer anything from people so rude that they start asking something they haven't even introduced who they are. Whatever your objective or who you are, you simply can't do this. Sorry, I won't be answering any more emails from you.

Embarassed Oh well, hopefully someone else will have better luck...

Jaames, to join just send an email to Inno Ellis at inno.ellisSPLATfailtechnologies.com and ask to join the External Agents team, and give a username that you want to go by (e.g. mine is posse). Inno will set up and account for you on the FAILTECH Agent Portal with the username you give him.

FYI the FAILTECH Agent Portal is located at http://join.failtechnologies.com/main but of course you'll need the username and password Inno will send you.

OK, thank you posse.

By the way, is Splat supposed to be THAT symbol, that one that you use before e-mails? .-.

Yes, the unFiction forums automatically make the @ symbol into SPLAT for email addresses so expect to see that a lot in posts, both here and in the other threads in this forum.
