BOO! I cannot believe the lot of you just brushing this off as 'the way it is' concerning this ARG. What a bunch of shit. Not long enough to let all the answers unfold. Something went wrong. Something's not right. Most thing's aren't even answered.
Most of you act like this is the norm in this world. If that is true, I really enjoyed interacting with you, but I won't be returning.
What a complete waste of time this was. It feels like it wasn't even finished. And I believe for whatever reason...it wasn't! After tonight I won't be returning.
Nice try. Horrible failure.
Nice to meet most of you though. I did enjoy the moment when it was still here. Take care.

i have to agree here. i have been following this game since oct. 15th. what the hell was the point? what kind of ending is this? this is like a novel that i've started reading that ends right before the climax begins. i dont understand how anyone could be happy about this?!

I don't believe anyone is happy about this.
I also don't believe this was a sponsored ARG (WB or WB)either.
Quite shoddy.

Fair play to the PMs though - they did it all for free, in their own time. None of us paid them for it.
But I do agree that the ending was... a little sudden

Again, I apologize, it's nothing personal. But I am a firm believer in not starting something I cannot finish. Apparently the PM's are from another school of thought. This was not finished.

sure, i'll give them credit for that, but still, in my mind, nothing about this game fits together. without a good conclusion, yeah, we're all left hanging. people are hailing this as a matrix like thing to do. i disagree. at least the matrix had an ending. whether people liked it or not, it was concluded.

Well...I have to agree with that. The PM's put in an enormous amount of time, and as more and more people hooked up with the game, the pressure to keep things up must have been pretty intense. I think that any volunteer crew has a breaking point - maybe they ran out of money, or time, or maybe this is the way they planned it.
The ending was sudden and yes, somewhat disappointing - especially to find out that the agents got a hold of Dina. I'm still reading and catching up with the story.
But as stories go, this was a good way to bring it to conclusion. For all we know, there may be more development of it...or not. But leaving things open to speculation let us imagine what could be, and what might be. Will Ethan and Jesse unplug from the matrix? What will happen to Beth?
I don't regret playing the game - does anybody, really? I didn't expect it to have a happy ending...since when does life end happily? It's messy, and troublesome, and we rarely have all the answers we want. That's realism for you.
The story moves on, and we, the spectators, are left to gather our things and go home. We had an incredible amount of fun doing this, and I honestly don't regret the time I spent on this. I learned a lot, I admired the work of some of our prolific posters and puzzle solvers, and I enjoyed the intrigue.
I had a spectacular time. Hope to see many of you in a future ARG, or just down the rabbit hole. If anybody makes it to Southern Alberta or British Columbia, look me up.

I don't think they just suddenly stopped... The game followed their project MU map exactly, other than lifeandcasualty...

I agree completely.

I am not 100% sure about this, but I believe the people who think it simply ended without any closure might have gotten the "you were selected for the beta" email first and went directly to the credits without getting the chance to see Beth's last log entry, Caesar's final Paintover post, and the addendum to the Aquapolis logs.
So, if you feel you were cheated out of an ending, you might check the above-mentioned places first, then sit back and stew on it a bit. At first, I was a little displeased with the conclusion--but now that a day has passed, I feel there really was some good closure and most of what I was feeling yesterday was shock/disbelief/anger over the ARG finally being over. Of course, there are still a few unanswered questions--but a great number of highly praised novels and movies leave a few things hanging.

I think it seemed sudden for me because I came here and read announcements saying 'it's over' before I got my password for the betatester.
I suppose I'd hoped that it would last a while longer, but I think I had already realized that it wouldn't. Good things come to an end, unfortunately!
