[ABANDONED SERIES] 004Steps
New Slender Vlog by British people.

So, I was asked to do this by a friend of the creator. They both have accounts here, but I doubt they would want me to give out their user names. Anyway, one of them has started posting 'strange videos' on youtube, as well as personal vlogs. He's only got five videos up so far, as well as an IG twitter. As I said, they're British, but unfortunately, so far that and the main character being fourteen are the only really new things I've seen. As I said, they're only five minutes in, but so far, it hasn't been groundbreaking. However, the effects are pretty good, and I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and keep watching.

Also, just a bit of a warning. I said that the distortion was pretty high quality? It's also pretty fucking loud.

The youtube profile.

Edit: For some reason, the twitter URL isn't translating to a link. Just copy and paste it, I guess.

I either really, really like this and think it is refreshing, or hate it and think it sucks. I'm not entirely sure yet. I'm going to be forced to subscribe and see.

Yeah, I did the same. Hopefully they've got some fresh new ideas stuck up their sleeves/emo haircuts.

For the first two videos, it seemed really good.

After that seems pretty shitty. It's starting to turn into a MH rip-off. Then again, people said that about the very beginnings of Tribe Twelve.

Anyway, it's still got some gems in there, so enough to keep me watching and subscribed.

I think I'm going to subscribe to this one just to see where it goes.

I like the pacing so far, it is decent. The "clips" are unnecessarily long with so much pausing for thought and needless ranting, but overall the story is getting to the point in a good amount of time.

The distortion is weird. It is very MH, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I saw the distortion and I waited to see Slendy, only to be left in disappointment. The only time it made sense was when the camera was pointed at the shed door (and even then this can be argued)

I really really like Strange Footage 2. The atmosphere was nice, and it very nicely coincided with the slendy mythos, so kudos to that, I think you need more entries like that.

I'm gonna avoid this one for the simple reason that most of the recent "good" vlogs, such as MLAndersen and TJAProjects, have moved away from needlessly loud audio distortion in favor of distortion that fits the theme, like the dial tone in MLA and the children's laughter in TJA. I've come to expect better things from distortion because of the better quality we've been seeing in a Slender Man series.

Did anyone else start laughing uncontrolably at what he said in Clip #1 starting at 1:10?

"...seems a bit weird... uh, yeah, anyway, so wum... yeah, but that fa-ahy-shoont-not-ishrat-wi-shthoody-this video woulda gone up uhlia but moi daddy kinda found out abowut th' foo'age anny tookit..."

Needless to say, the way he speaks is amazing.

Yeah, I honestly didn't like the second strange footage. It seemed too much like the MH and TT videos set in playgrounds, with the moving equipment and silentness and whatnot, but without the payoff of a Slender Man sighting, and with operator symbols on the ground. Still, I'm hoping he steps it up a notch and adds something new.

@Zaden: Yes, I was cracking up, but I doubt he can help it.

I am SO not buying that he's 14. Either he hit puberty at 9 and his voice is settled or he's late teens at youngest. (like 18-19)

ETA: The only reason this isn't as dull as dishwater is because he's British and somewhat fun to listen to.

Oi, you...At least admit this is way higher quality then the other vlogs set up by 14 year olds damnit xD

And now I shall leave you all in peace, for I am that afore mentioned friend of the creator and I recogise my presence here is most unproper Razz

Just watched through these.

Kid's kinda rambley, and so far the stuff isn't very original or anything, but for a 14 year old yeah, it's not half bad. It's kinda early on in the series too, to be able to really tell if it will be decent or not that good. I can't decide yet. Heh. We'll see.

...I HOPE HE FINDS HIS KITTY :<

Well, looking at the track record for animals in series' related to Slender Man (The dead animals Alex and Brian find on their lawn, and more recently, Sparky from EMH), I'm not holding my breath for the poor kitty.

Reminds a tad of the JonClubs113 vlog. The spinning playground devices had a cliché vibe but were nicely executed, hope it turns into a more original direction eventually.

I'm British, and I'm finding the familiar accent refreshing Razz
Also, I could totally believe that he's 14.
