figure you fine fellows will know
encrypted file recovery

So I reformatted a hard drive that had encrypted (with EFS) files on. I've managed to recover the file from the drive, however the recovered file doesnt show as encrypted and just contains symbols. anyone knows anything I can do to try and recover the data? Its a .xls budget sheet.

I would try all the unfiction cypher breakers that i'd built up but......I forgot to backup my bookmarks too.

So any help?

If the drive was encrypted, I'd think you're screwed; But, you could start here:
