We must be missing something, but I have no idea what. Are we supposed to find another link or video or something before Darren will contact us?

Why KATIE anyway? She's the one that slept through everything when they were kids, right?

No. She's the one, that apparently the demon would seem to be after the most. It would stand at the foot of her bed, whisper to Katie her name, etc.

Video clips have something in common?
family video subject

The videos have something in common
The boat needed to be named
The baby was celebrating a religious event

Christening is a naming ceremony associated with:
    Infant baptism
    Ship naming and launching

Interestingly...
A boat or ship partakes the ritual out of superstition, to appease sea gods. Originally in the form of a human blood sacrifice. In modern times, the blood has been replaced with red wine.

Both invariably involve water.

Just heard a theory that the TOBI anagram has something to do with codes in spoken word, and there may be something in the actual words that Darren speaks on his advertisement..

I dont have speakers here, so can someone post the entire script of what darren says in his Advert, start to finish, starting each new sentence on a new line and see what we get

Maybe the first letter of each line he speaks spells out something simple, another website or something.. this may be the "something simple" we have been overlooking

I think you are definitely onto something!
The www is there in the first 3 lines. Heres the script:

What if you could time travel?
Would you go back in time or to the future?
Why not do both?

Im darren from darrens timeless memories where we convert your old vhs tapes into cutting edge dvd technology.

Bringing you the past, into the future.

The future is, the bomb.

We'll
Treat your video
Optimize the data
Beautify the resolu(tion missing)
And
Incode for eternity

Im taking orders now, email me darren@darrenstim(elessmemories not spelt)

WOW so there is www in the first 3 lines...

Can we figure out a clue in the rest of it? ill keep on it..

^^ I think he's right. I tried anagramming the first letters of each line, and got nothing. But I feel we might be on to something.

Zayd Jaber is now the only credited cast member on IMDB. Born in 95. Interesting.
He's credited as playing "William Johnson"

Bear with me...kinda long first post.

I've visited unfiction before and have kinda trolled around from time to time. Always thought it had some of the brightest minds posting here and have found some really incite-full stuff, especially leading up to Cloverfield back in '07.

Now, being a huge PA fan, I knew unfiction would have some good info on viral stuff, even if it were just rumors. And so far, I haven't been let down. So, I decided to go ahead and register to add few thoughts to this PA3 thread.

FYI, I was born in 72. so I grew up on some iconic slasher films from the late 70's and 80's. Halloween has always held a special place in my childhood memories as it was probably the only horror film to actually have me afraid at night. It wasn't so much the actual "chase" scenes or the impalement and mutilations...but the "what ifs" that were so frightening.

It was the "is Michael on the other side of the door" questions that would run through your head that were so frightening. And those really successful horrors movies (IMO -- not based off of ticket sales) were the ones that left so many questions in your mind. They didn't tell you all the details...they left so much unseen and let your own imagination write in those details for you.

I found it truly refreshing to find that when I went along with my GF to see some absolutely unknown fright flick (PA1) that it reached into my psyche and scared the hell out of that little kid in me. There were so many of those "what ifs", so much simplicity in the production, and a premise that the western christian-based culture we all grew up in could actually wrap our brain around. I was literally frightened to the point that I stayed up for about six nights after seeing it. I enjoyed the hell out of it...and immediately downloaded and watched it over and over again.

Now, for me, I feel as though the Director's Cut with the police ending is truly the most horrifying and insidious of the possible plots. It clearly showed a high level of intelligence in the "big-picture" total orchestration of events by the demon. And why? We didn't really need to know a 'why'...all we needed to know was that the demon wanted to maim and kill the couple...enough said.

And actually, my good friend and I felt that the best premise for a sequel was totally unrelated to the first -- create a new setting, cast, and possibly even time period and show the demon orchestrating the slow torture and murder of another family...do it sort of like a James Bond series of movies. Keep the same central character, the demon, and have him knock off a new family in a new plot with each installment. This idea has me excited to one day find a Eng subtitle version of the PA Tokyo Night episode as it appears as though this may be what they are doing with that film -- the only common denominator I know of with that film and these three is that the female was an exchange student in San Diego.

Anyway, getting on to PA3 -- from everything I have read and what I have seen come from Oren Peli as well as from Henry Joost and Ariel Shulman, this movie is not about Bloody Mary. As someone else has mentioned before, the Bloody Mary mirror scene is simply a teaser, nothing more. However, having said that -- I do find it very interesting that the figure appears to me to be an exact silhouette of the adult possessed Katie. Most likely a foreshadowing that one day she'll be the embodiment of the demon herself, but these guys could very well be taking this episode in some sort of time traveling direction as well. After all, I seriously doubt that the spirit world that demons would exist in is hardly bound by our mortal constraints of time. Just thinking out loud.

Also, I find now that IMDB has an actual movie poster which is very odd. its the crying hunter still frame from the virals for PA2 and the phrase "You are prepared -- to return -- to his old nightmares?" WTF is that about? Hunter's old nightmares? The demon's old nightmares? A lot to dig into there, in my opinion. And why the odd syntax/phrasing? Why is it a questions when it "sounds" like it should be a simple statement?

Finally, I see the poster lists Oren as the director...any ideas as to why? Please -- someone confirm that this is a studio poster and not a fan-made poster...

That's enough for now...I am tired of typing and you are tired of reading...so I'm heading back to find out what the "www.ibtwtobaii" anagram thing is....

Oh, TOBI -- could that be the toddler whose birthday is recorded on Darren's Timeless example videos? The one where folks think (falsely in my opinion) that there is a skull on the table next to the Bday cake?

The poster on IMDB is actually a fan made. I'm not quite sure how this got listed on IMDB, but it's not real. That explains the awkward grammar. I do like, however, that you point out that the shadow looks like Katie. Never really thought of it like that Smile

Yeah, I was afraid of that.

One thing I can't shake is that I read Oren was quoted as stating that Katie was in PA3, but that she would be possessed the entire film. If this is so, then that's sorta like a law of physics we can apply to our reasoning. In fact, this statement by him and another where he claims this will absolutely be the most terrifying of all three are the only comments I have read from him on PA3. Can anyone else confirm that Oren said this?

Here is why I think it's a critical "leak" -- if she is possessed the whole time, and she is in the movie as a child, then she was possessed as a child. That would be a terrifying movie to see a possessed child terrifying her sister.

On the other hand, it could be that these 80's home movie clips are simply a red herring and teasers for the movie. We have already seen them do that with PA2 in which there were all the viral clips "leaked" -- a large portion of which were never even in the movie.

Also , keep in mind the official trailer states that "This October -- Discover -- The Secret -- Behind the Activity". We could pull anagrams or whatever we like from that (and I wouldn't be surprised if there was something there), but the obvious statement is that the reason/motive/cause for the activity of the franchise hasn't been revealed yet. This would mean that Ali's conclusion that one of her relatives from the family history made a deal with a demon for money, power, or wealth is not accurate. I had a difficult time accepting this motive, btw.

Also, we can't ignore the obvious reference in Darren's commercial spots directed at time. He suggests "What if you could time travel? Would you go back in time or to the future? Why not do both?" PA2 did that...it went back in time, and went forward in the story timeline at the end of the movie. PA3 could very easily do something similar.

Likewise, remember he states: "Bringing you the past, into the future. The future is, the bomb." Could be more foreshadowing -- that what happens in the 'future' of PA3 will be truly horrifying (hence Oren's comment I referenced earlier).

Anyway...time to go eat.

So I tried playing with just the first letter from each sentence. I figured maybe the WWW is (as other people seem to be thinking) the start of a web address, and then I tried to anagram and ROT cipher the remaining characters. I figured it might have something to do with the 111% being a clue to try a ROT-11 cipher...no such luck. Along with every other ROT cipher. It's not a box cipher either.

Sorry guys, stopped following for a couple of days. Of course, I came back to find that we'd still gotten nowhere... either they made this thing too hard to crack, or we are thinking way too hard... or they're just not keeping up with their own ARG.

Good thinking on the website acrostic thing, but it seems to be yet another dead end...

I sent the message to Darren after his site went down exactly a week ago (on the 7th), and I had seen things on here implying that it had been down for at least a couple of days at that point... so, my thinking is that they're stalling for time; they didn't actually have enough planned out to fill the next three months, so they're trying to drag this thing out a bit.

Just to be ironic, I sent Darren this message:
Hey, when is your site gonna be back up? I wouldn't think that a conference would last this long... also, are you aware that you keep spelling "Encode" wrong?
I hope you're alright, and haven't been... idk, possessed by a demon or something. lol
Please get back to me with more examples of your work, I have some VHS tapes in dire need of "Incoding for eternity".

Honestly, this entire situation is starting to annoy me. I doubt I'll be checking in very often until Darren gets back to us...

ETA: Yeah, just like I thought, I got the same automated message back. Didn't really expect anything else, really...

Just found this... none of it means a lot to me, and you can't access a lot of the information without paying for it/signing up. But, maybe it'll mean more to one of you guys: it contains the domain registry information for DarrensTimelessmemories.com...

http://whois.domaintools.com/darrenstimelessmemories.com

Don't know if any of it will be useful, but maybe with some digging it'll give us some form of shortcut to the next part of this game. Someone should write a letter to the address given, and/or fax them. Just to see what happens. lol

Also, I was searching the web for the entire description of the site ("Darren's Timeless Memories. Convert your old VHS, Beta + Film to DVD Technology! Watch our Television Commercials and see our client examples."), and I came upon this:
fashion.mitrasites.com/timeless.html
The site doesn't currently work, as far as I can tell, but the only thing in the google description for it was that description of Darren's site.
If you wanna check it out for yourself search for that description in google. It's on the second page.

Also, it seems that "WOPULAR" the "news and search aggregator" advertises for Darren from time to time.

Guys, I don't think this is an ARG. There's a difference between ARGs and viral marketing; this is a case of the latter.
